Our new X14V is a blast! After only 2-3 weekends of use, we now have 12 hours on the boat, and need to change the oil. I have an oil extractor, and need to buy the oil and filter.

Does anyone know the correct filter for the Ilmor that can be purchased at an auto parts store?

The Owners Manual states it needs an MV8V-1021. Does anyone know what the car version of this is?

Thanks for the input.

Anyone, Anyone

I have 40 hours on my new X14V 5.7 Ilmore and love it. We changed the oil at 15 hours but now need another.

wixfilters.com does not show a filter that matches.

MV8 is ilmor prefix to the model of their engine, try v-1021

The filter appears to be a private label K&N filter.

What K&N filter are you using on your 6.0?

This is a little frustrating. No one seems to know what filter to use on the 5.7 Ilmore.

Dealer is researching for me and will let me know if there is a K&N number.

I emailed K&N last night for the correct part number.

I picked up a couple at my dealer, however, to me, it looks like a regular older model small block chevy filter....the shorter of the two..... (Wix part # 51069). Thread size and everything looked the same. I cant say for sure though. It has been a while since I had a GenII small block. I think I am going to try one out on the next change.

I have the MV8 6.2l if that makes any difference.

5.7 6.0 and 6.2 are all the same

IN STOCK...I know they are expensive. If you cross reference to a K and N they are still
expensive $22.00 plus shipping

Bet it's a Wix 51069/Napa 1069/AC Delco PF25. Evenwith the remote oil filter they probably used a std Chevy oil filter.
Wix 1021 does not cross ref, it is a commercial application filter.
I'd take i down to Napa and match it up. Start with a 1069 or the longer version of that filter.

i thought the pennzoil pz-167 is a replacement. You can buy that in the us.
We use the original ilmorfilters in the Netherlands because we can't get pennzoil filters over here.
it is a standard filter on the 2011 indmar engines.
I replace them when i have a oilchange for the ilmor filters.

what i ment is that we use the original ilmor filters on the ilmor.
And for the new indmars we also use the ilmor filters.
standard indmar filter 2011 is the pennzoil.
Maybe i wrote it a little better now.

It sure looks like a wix 51069 to me.... I am doing my winterization :( this weekend, and I am going to see if they match up. I would rather have a wix on there anyhow. Buying the k&n is throwing money away.

does anyone know if that snazzy top mount oil filter on the new Ilmors could be scabbed onto my 2006 MCX? that would be a nice feature for my old boat.

Napa 1372 works for the 6.0. Must be the same for the 5.7

Napa # 1372 is what I used last year on my 6.0. The dealer gave me a free Ilmore filter last week so I use that yesterday on my 5.7 but it sure looks like the exact same filter.

i have it on good authority that a KN HP-2010 oil filter is a cross reference for the Ilmor brand oil filter.

Any of these will work:

Napa 1069
Wix 51069
Fram CPH 30 / PH 30
AC PF25
Penske PN30
Purolator L20049
Castrol CM30
Motorcraft FL10
Quaker State QS30

in checking the marine section of k and n, its saying hp-2002 is for gm motors. has anyone verified this?? I find it odd that the black k and n is the low end of the oil filters, per there people, and thats what illmor is using and selling at a huge markup..

I changed the oil in my 2014 for the first time. I unscrewed the oil filter and the filter started filling the catch pan with oil and then poured out a drain onto my transmission. Is this new? When I did the same thing to my 2012, I remember the filter not having much oil in it and the catch pan not having a drain. I just mopped up the little oil that ended up in there. I'm sure it's better to keep the filter full, just wasn't prepared for the change.

So, if you're going to remove the oil filter, make sure you stuff a catch pan under the drain hole.

I can verify it's not the 2002 called illmore to find out and they said they do not oem k and n, and they out out a service bulletin not to use them.

it's a remote mount filter, so the gm block has nothing to do with the oil filter mount

$22 bucks at midwest mastercraft.. I spend $13 on a the NAPA Platinum 41060 - I know that most likely won't work. Do you have a caliper to measure the spin on nub and gasket size?

check this thread.

I just used the Mobil 1 m1-113, fit justifiable but it is 13 buck. How ever how are you all changing your oil. My pella 6000 pile extractor wouldn't fit down the dip stick hole.

I have not changed my oil yet on the 2014 X30 but on my 2006 X2 with MCX there was a oil drain hose that came off the oil pan and was long enough to fit out the transom drain plug. Is this not the case on the Ilmor's?

Well on the older 01 x-10 I just drained through the dip stick hole. I just realized I better check my spelling because the auto correct makes that last post terrible!

Oh and I keep my boat in a slip I would have to pull it out to change the oil that way.

According to the manual its on the port side. i would still like to use my extractor. should be a 15 minute job and not a pull the boat out.

there's a drain hose on the starboard side. I hook the extractor up to the drain hose and suck it out that way. it's faster than the dipstick. the ilmor dipstick takes a really small hose to fit through.

Thanks bcd, I was wondering if the extractor would work through the hose. Do you do it from inside the boat or through the transom drain plug? Being in a marina I need to do it inside the boat. And I haven't been there to look at the hose.
