View Full Version : First time deep clean

So i started to do the three step process of de-oxidize, gloss and wax yesterday after work, first time ever. I did decent on de-oxidizeing the boat (main part was the back). started putting gloss on, and while i was doing it i ripped my pad on the corner, did not notice it right away since i was doing this at night, and i rubbed into the boat with the black plastic and made black marks on top and scuffed it a little. i'm still mad.

I bought a box set, i think they were from maguires, it has all three bottles in it, and i am using a grinder type tool with low setting, with pad.

figured out what my problem was. i needed to put a foam pad inbetween the bonnet and the buffer in order to get a better feel on it. Then STOP USING THE BUFFER!!! after all of the scratchs are out, finish the gloss and wax by hand. so today is day three, and everything from the rub rail up is complete, tomarrow starts a new day.

i am hoping to be on the lake for one day this weekend, but still unsure where.
