In October 2003, the wife and I made the decision to rebuild our lakehouse. I knew that meant missing a summer on the water, so I found a storage unit big enough for the boat and put her in it. Last summer came and went. I even got the boat out of storage a few times and washed her.
I didn't expect to miss this summer too. But house building is not on any time schedule. After joining this forum a few weeks ago, I couldn't take it any longer. Went and got the boat yesterday morning, loaded up the family, and hit the lake.
It was like a NASA shuttle lift-off at the ramp. I was telling the wife each switch to flip, and she would say "check". I definitely wanted to make sure everything was working as planned. Once on the water, I filled and emptied the ballast tank about 5 times to get out the gunk.
Put about 2 hours on the boat. Saw several MC's. The kids had a blast. And even the wife said we should have done this sooner. I just wonder if I can talk her into going out today!!!!!!
BTW, I am now up to 39 hours on a 3 year old boat :o

I have no idea. I went to the members galery to see your boat. That is one large purple boat! Very nice looking though. Too nice to sit for two years.

Nice ride BigB! It looks like it only has 39 hrs on it. You need to take her out and beat her up a little :D
So, when the lake house is done, we're all invited to the house warming party yes??? ;)

Way to go BIG B! I know what it is like to rekindle - I didn't take my former boat out for one summer and finally the next summer came and once I got on the water all was good! Hope the lake home get's done and you can just step out the back door, lower the lift and take a run!

I also know how it feels. When I was building my house there were 2 summers that the boat got out 1 day each. I just had to set everything aside and get out on the water.
Nice boat! Maybe MarkP will give you his Avatar. na, probobly not.....

If you are ever working on the house and want a quick pull, pm me and I will get you my cell number. If we are out, I will swing by Leatherwood to pick you up and drag you around the lake for a while.

That truck has a story..
When I purchased my TriStar in 91, wifes toronado would not pull it as it had done with my Glastron Carlson- DUH... Problem was not enough money left for new rig, and I would of NEVER purchased a new vehicle for the DS wife to destroy....
Found this 77 Chev stepside in kinda bad shape.. Factory 454-turbo400 Silverado... It WAS a really nice LOADED truck for its day.. Air, cruise, tilt, AM-FM ( big thing back then) with the Silverado interior..
I started to fix things on this truck and as I took things off I found more and more problems with it.. Next thing I knew I was wire wheeling the paint off of the BARE FRAME on two sawhorses in front of my house.. ALSO, my 67 convertible was taken apart strewn all through the garage...
So, I have a new MC I cannot get to the lake, a pickup completely disassembled and a 67 coronet with parts ALL over the garage and side of my home.. No wonder my wife left LOL.......
ANYWAY, the truck came out really well, basically EVERY nut and bolt is new, and it was restored...
It was sold a few years ago.. My 01 Chev p/u is alot nicer to to tow with......
