Well i took my dog out for an early morning cruise to see how she would like it. She doesn't like the water so i wasn't sure how she would react to the dock. No issues, she hopped right into the boat, better than some of my friends might I ad. I laid some towels on the carpets to kept the majority of her hair off the carpet. Anyone else take their dog(s) for boat trips? She seemed to really enjoy it.

Btw, my dog is a 110lb Rottweiler mix.

I used to let my dogs(black lab and golden shar pei) on my old boat(four winns) but now they are not allowed on the x45...don't want them scratching vinyl and getting hair everywhere! purdy dog btw

ha, i think it will be a just me and her event. She's rather large and takes up almost the entire floor. It was nice spending the morning on the lake and having someone to talk to...

Looks like you're had his dew claws cut out. If so, that will help with keeping the vinyl from getting ripped. Remember to clean out the vacume cleaner filter, cause you're gonna need it!:)

I have a black lab that of course loves the water, but she also loves shedding fur and with my white interior, I couldn't handle that so she stays on shore.

We almost always take the dog. Keep the nails short, never been a problem on the uphulstery in this boat or our last one. Dog hair? Yes. I own a vaccuum and not afraid to use it!

Yep, sure do.. Hair is a pain, but it cleans up.
As you can see it tires her right out...

Crosby would never forgive us if we went out in the boat without him. Notice how he politely keeps his nails off the gelcoat...

Despite the disapproval of 2RLake , our dogs do join us on our boat and they love it. I will admit that it occaisionally makes me crazy, but it is not worth the battle with my wife to ban them.

Our Australian Blue Heeler (Darla) goes with us whenever we go. She loves the water and doesn't do any damage to hull or interior. Only issue so far is having to vacuum more often but she doesn’t shed much.

I am trying to devise some form of a ramp to temporarily attach to the platform when we are swimming so she can come onboard instead of having to pull her in by her collar. I will get some pictures of her for the thread one of these days (I planned on doing this past weekend but forgot).

I feel terrible leaving my black lab at home when we go to the lake. She loves it so much, but she won't stay in the bloody boat. If I jump in for a set, she is instantly in the water with me. Even the most obedient labs become def when they are near the water. Hopefully we have a chance to practice more some day, but at the moment my hands are full enough on the boat with 3 & 4 year old boys.

Ditto with my Golden,he loves the boat and the lake, But we leave him on the beach if a family member is skiing.

This is Frankie our Boston. He loves the boat and the water, as soon as we start packing the cooler he starts getting excited.

Boozer comes along for an occasional boat ride...if there's wakeboarding or skiing going down, he stays home though.

My 125lb Golden LOVES boat rides, but I have limited him to the pontoon so far. He goes on strike rather than get in a car (just TRY to get a 125lb dog off the ground when he does not want to stand up!), but as soon as he sees boat keys, he bolts for the door.

We had a Cocker for 11 years (R.I.P) that loved the water and the boat. We had a hard time keeping her OUT of the water. My oldest son recently got a black lab (what he calls a lab ) and it's a big goofball. He's mostly shepherd and isn't too fond of swimming, but he's not a year old yet. He does shed like a bear, but we are used to dogs in the boat.

We've got a yellow lab who sheds like no tomorrow. Between the shedding and the nails I can't see letting her in the boat.

I use that furminator all the time and still don't let the dog in. Although over the long weekend I caved and let her on for a ride. I spent half an hour after cleaning her black lab hair off my white vinyl!!

That will be her last ride, it was funny when she tried to lean over the side of the boat to eat the spray though, silly dog.

Since Ansel is a service dog in training, we take him on and in the water as often as possible. Helps him learn balance and commands in different environments. It's also a blast!

My dog never misses a day on the water. Just gotta be sure to keep the nails clipped and filed, and on that note i pay someone to do it.
