I am looking for a wakeboard Pylon for my 1979 mastercraft. Does anyone have a suggestion as to brand and model that would work best for a boat this age?

I do - it can be removed.

The current Pylon is the original and it is angular - more narrow on the top and wider at the bottom.

any pylon will work. Just get the sleeve that comes with the extended pylon so it fits tightly.

Took a chance and bought a sky rack from http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_11151_10001_444674_-1?cid=chanintel_google&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=444674

It was a heck of a deal and perfect!!

I have a Barefoot International Fly High Pylon for my '77. I had to cut the ends of the T on the existing pylon for the extended pylon to fit. I machined them to the same original profile with no trouble. No problems at all.
