Anyone know of any major changes between the 2004 and 2005 MC trailers that are under the 197s and 209s. I had to have some warranty work done on my 2004 single axle trailer and they replaced the actuator with an 05 actuator. The reason I ask is before my trailer would hop terribly without a boat on it going down the road, but today when I pulled home my trailer with the new ('05) actuator my trailer did NOT hop at all. Did my dealer not install properly or are the actuators not as sensitive? I'm all for the new as long as my brakes will work when I load my boat onto the trailer. I have read the thread in which a gentlemen installed a switch in his vehicle to avoid the hopping of the trailer when not loaded. I was almost to that point on my '04 but now since my warranty work, I'm not noticing the hopping. I do also like the new style release from the ball where I do NOT have to hold up on the release while cranking my jack but now (with the '05) I simple release the hitch from the ball, it flips up and now I'm free to crank the jack without reaching for the release at the same time as I did on my '04. Thanks for any input in advance.

There was a change in the orifice diameter this has helped to minimize the axle hop condition. The 2005 actuator also picks up on decel at a different point in travel than the 2004 leading to less axle twist which is inherent in a torsion axle trailer...
