Just wondering how many of you guys are from san jose? and wakeboard on thelocal lakes, calero, anderson, coyote? I know they suck compared to the delta, but im 10 mins from calero so its easier to go their afterwork then to snodgrass, or disco.

I'm from Newark/Fremont and we wakeboard, but we don't go to those lakes due to they are so small in size. We either go to the delta or to Don Pedro & New Melones. These lakes are so large that you can get your own area and not feel so crowded.

sanddragon,
How crowded do these lakes get? Everytime I golf in the area, I drive by the lakes and they seem crowded with jetski and Seados. Can you actually find space to wakeboard? Don't you have to traverse the lakes in a certain direction? Anyways, you have to go where ever you can find water and if it is that close and can allow you to get your boat out several times a week, more power to you.

no its circular, best time to get out is just before sunset. last week we went 3 times so cant complain! all else fails we just get the surfboard out and wakesurf.

those lakes are ridiculous, i wouldnt waste my time trying to do anything but booze cruise or tube there. ive spent more time in line to launch and trailer than actually out on the water. i dont ive in the area anymore thank goodness. i started going to fopstercity instead but its probably to far for you. im also a course skier and they had on there.

I know its not the delta, I have been wakeboarding up their for about 12 years now. But heck i live 10 mins away, It beats sitting at home watching tv when its 100 degs outside.
Mostly just looking for other locals, I see alot of wakeboarders on that lake figured maybe some of them come on here. guess not?

I'm in San Jose. Anderson is fine. Calero is a little tight. Coyote in Gilroy is bigger than Calero, but smaller than Anderson.
9 out of 10 times we go out on Anderson. We're closer to Anderson, so that factors in our decision also.

Last year they completely redid the launch ramp.
Much better now. 4 wide is no problem, assuming that the boaters know what they're doing.
I'm guessing the percentage of people that are not proficient at launching is fairly consistant wherever you go.
