Far from it!!! She ran great this weekend and I couldnt be happier with the end result. It was a long winter but totally worth it, lots of fun with the family and lots of questions from the die hard newer mastercraft crowd. Here are the pics enjoy...

PS Big thanks to all who helped me get the coil problem figured out!

Great job! Beautiful boat, it reminds me of our 1985 red and cream S&S I grew up with. Suffice to say I have a soft spot for S&S boats so I just had to get the next best thing (as I really wanted a EFl engine). You are sure to have a great summer with an awesome boat like that. :)

Thanks guys!

I did all the grunt work myself, had a little help on the buffing and polishing and after she was totally gutted I had the carpet and seats redone by a local shop here on the southside of Chicago. There is a thread around here with the information somewhere. Of all the work done I still had the most fun doing the teak. As you can see from the first picture it was blacker then night and had moss growing all over it. I never thought it would turn out but after countless sandings and oiling she looks like new.

Dont be afraid of these boats, if you get a solid 83 and up with fiberglass in good shape they are really not hard to work on and you just need a small garage. The trailer is next on my list its time for new life there too!

Beautiful job 03!. I had an 82 with the curved windshield that I sold to a neighbor and it has not been taken care of like when I had it. Another neighbor is buying it and going to clean it up a bit. You did a wonderful job restoring your 83.

Do you happen to have more pictures of the back seat? I'm looking to build one for my '76, and I like the way that one looks. Can you tell me how it was constructed???

It's gonna be different from the 1983 model. I believe that the 76 was a two part cushion. This meaning just the base and the back cushion. The 1976 hull is a bit more narrow too. I am not sure when the back seat first came about in the MC. I am sure an owner can help us out on here.
