OK,

SO where does the HO Vengeance fit into the mix? I see its not nearly the price of thier higher end skis, so is that more of a intermidiate ski? According to their chart, it does fit into the "performance" and "expert" ranges. thats a big grey area....its subjective. So I wonder what the skill level it is intended for? It does intrigue me a bit. Its about $100 more than the CDX's that Wileys have. Just wonder what the deal is with the "shaped-comp" style ski. I find the Shaped, Comp, and shaped-comp thing a bit confusing.

As a recreational skier that only Free skis, I do try to push myself all the time and progress, but I dont want to buy too much ski for me. Just curious if anyone has any experience with the HO vengeance or knows aobut it

I ski a vengeance
I like it
it is much much easier to ski the course, deepwater start and to turn than my old old HO turbo
CDX is fast fast and you will love it if you ski a course. I noticed that the CDX wants to hunt if you are just skiing along in a straight line.
If you are truly recreational, don't go above the vengeance in skill level.
I can really turn the vengeance sharp at 32 & 34mph with no wing 15& 22 off course skiing so you can easily grow up with the ski if you get into course skiing any.

I have the ASX. Which is the the same ski as the new vengeance. I love it. If you are worried about a cdx or truth, definitely give this a try. It is a major step up from the burner, or freeride series, but more forgiving than the truth or cdx. It was also made for 34mph and not 36mph if I am not mistaken.

I just dont want to buy too much ski for me. I am taking my time doing a lot of research before I buy this ski. I am not in a hurry and I am not going to overlook anything. I want to make a good decision. THanks for the input. anyone else try them?

so from all the research I have done so far I am thinking the Vengeance is probably more suited for my style of skiing. I think the CDX is above my skill level and I could really benefit from the Vengeance being a more recreational ski. I have done alot of reseach on this now and I called HO and they think the Vengeance would be the ski for me.

Any more user testimonials for the Vengeance??

Thanks

:)

The ASX/Vengeance is what I recommended for you on your CDX thread. It's about 1/4" wider in the mid-section that the truth or CDX. It's more forgiving and more comfortable on open water. I've skied it when my wife had one for a while. I liked it a lot and from skiing on it, decided I wanted an HO. She wanted something more aggressive and went for the Truth. She is a pretty aggressive skier though and has been skiing for over 26 years.

Yes sir eastie, I remember you recommending that. :) THanks! Its not that I ignored your recommendation, I just wanted to explore all options and get as many opinions as I could. :o After talking to HO, I think that solidified everyones advice. I just think I would be better on the vengeance, I think the CDX is too much ski for me. Maybe in the future I can upgrade if my skill level warrants it. I truly appreciate everyones help on this.....on ALL my threads :o I know I beat this issue into the ground alot, but its how I go about things. I really research alot before I buy usually. I didnt research as much as I normally do with the Siege. I was just set on an Obrien only, and it was that or the Synchro. but I have realized that HO makes some great products and I am really eager to try those Animal superfeet double boots now that I can start on one ski. THanks again!

No worries. I was just making sure you knew that the ASX and Vengeance are the same ski. You think this is beating it into the ground? You should've seen it when BillNSX was looking for a Prostar 205 two years ago. Of course, we will expect a write-up from you on the differences between all the HO skis in Bill's honor.

Where has Bill been lately anyway?

mainly kidding with you but there may be some online dealers that have a test ride/return policy
I know sun n ski sports has a demo policy
it's like $20/day to demo any ski or board they have and honestly no matter what we tell you on here, you will need to try a few before you know for sure, you know?

Thanks eastie :)

I have to admit I was a bit confused at first about the ASX and the Vengeance being the same ski from different years. Its confusing when they change the names like that. I thought the ASX was a different ski altogether. I think I am honing in on it being the right ski for me. :)

I will certainly let you know when I get one.

Anybody know a good place to buy one? with good prices?

I am all ears.

I got a slightly used 04 demo from Bennetts a year or so ago for $199 (blank). Add $200 or so for boots.
