Ilmor Marine celebrates production milestone

Posted on 31 May 2011

Ilmor Marine recently marked the production of its 1,000th marine V-8 engine with a celebration at its headquarters in Mooresville, N.C.

Ilmor is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ilmor Engineering Inc., and it operates in a 50,000-square-foot marine engine assembly and test facility that has been open since July 2010. The plant makes Ilmor’s new series of inboard GM-based marine V-8 (MV-8) engines and can assemble as many as 15,000 engines a year.

Ilmor is the primary engine supplier to MasterCraft Boat Co.

“Today marks a very special moment in Ilmor’s history,” company president Ronald Brown said in a statement. “In the last year, we have successfully overcome the challenging tasks of opening a new business and creating jobs in a difficult economy. By completing the 1,000th engine, we have also achieved a new high in commercial production. We and our dedicated employees are proud to demonstrate our long-term commitment to the town of Mooresville, to the marine industry and to our customers around the world.”

You're welcome. Admittedly on a very small amount of time on mine so far (~3hrs), but it does everything I would expect of a competition tow boat engine.
