If the holes are too close, will it weaken the hull? Would they interfere with each others water flow?
Four 1" holes. Thanks.

I can't imagine them having any effect on the flow unless you were going so fast that the pumps would have a hard time getting water regardless.

I'm no engineer but I'd think 3-4 holes with 3-4" in between wouldn't cause any measurable reduction in strength for the intended purpose. Any time you drill a hole it's going to weaken the hull but whether or not it makes a practical difference is the question.

I put my 3/4" ballast intakes (1" hole) pretty far apart though on my MariStar 230. One in front of each engine mount and then one about 16-18" in front of the port side motor mount. FWIW when I drilled the hull was 7/8" thick at each location.

Thanks, jeff. The ballast album you put up looks good. Have you used it yet?
