View Full Version : Question on tower speaker wires

I took off my tower speakers to clean and wax them. I noticed that the outer two speakers have one wire (+&-) running to them. The two interior cans have 2 wires running to them. I know that my boat has 3 clarion amps (I believe 1 400 series and 2 200 series). Any guess as to the purpose of this setup? I was thinking that the interiror speakers are pulling from 2 amps, but I just don't know.

The 2nd wires on the inner speaker are probably going to the outer speakers.

Take a pic. of the inner speaker terminals and post them.

yep, sounds like your outer speakers are wired in parallel with your inner speakers to the same amp.

You might be correct. The boat came stock with two tower speakers. I had 2 more added and the dealer also added the second amp. Assuming they are parallel, any issues with this?

Don't be insulted by the question. Do you know ALL 4 up top are working?
