If you haven't seen StanCraft's new WickedWood check out the video link below and the photos, then take special note of the rendering at the bottom:

There's talk between MasterCraft and StanCraft to build a VERY Limited Edition of an X-Series for 2012 using the latest big power from Ilmor and every other option they can put in the boat.

Hopefully not! That wood wakeboard boat looks like a wooden version of a BU, incl tower.
And mating that modern tower to a wooden hull....doesn't really go IMHO.

Not a classic design like Chris Craft or GarWood. No thanks.

WickedWood.......really?

This company isnt like all of those OLD wooden boat companies. StanCraft takes traditional older looking designs and blends it with new hull designs, powertrain and new comfort and technology. I saw one of their boats in Los Angeles and it was amazing.

With all the demand out there for this product, why limit production?

I would love to have an old classic wooden boat. I think there is not a better looking boat than a high gloss closed bow with a v8. I saw on here some picts a few years ago of a members boat that he had built. Maybe I'll look into a project like that in my old age.

But for now I have all the work I can handle maintaining a boat without any wood in it.

I think this concept would be more interesting as Maristar/V Series (without a tower).

Are they going to make a cheaper limited edition also, or just the very limited edition? I wonder if they'll make a super sonic very rare limited edition too? That would be a nice touch.
