I bought a # 10 anchor yesterday what does #10 mean and will it hold my boat ?
It was recommended by a buddy seams to hold his mammoth tige rz2

It means the anchor weighs 10 lbs. As for whether it will hold your boat, I think it depends on a number of factors including weight of the boat, conditions, and type of lake bottom.

I have a 12 lb tri-fluted river anchor that has had no trouble holding my old 93 PS 205 or my 98 SN.
