I realized I was about to commit a thread jack on the discussion about rudders. The Governor brought up Oberon beer. I was replying b/c I just had my first one a couple of weeks ago. One of my vendors at work brought me some. She went to school at W. Michigan and after tasting Sweetwater she brought me some Oberon b/c it was similar.
That got me to thinking what other local brews everyone on here likes.
My personal favorite is Sweetwater 420. It is a local Atlanta brew.

Ah Bud Light??? Nasty stuff!! :D
Being a Colorado boy it's all about the Coors Light for my domestic choice. Great thing about Colorado is that micro brews were about a dime a dozen and there is some talented brewers there!!

I am a fellow Chico State Alumni and Sierra Nevada was my favorite micro brew when I was in school as well. I still go back to Chico State twice a year for recruiting purposes, and we make it a manadory visit to have dinner and a few brews while we are in town. :friday:

It certainly was a treat. However, I remember numerous evening solving the old Lucky Lager puzzles.

New Glarus Spotted Cow from Wisconsin is very good. They have other types also under the Spotted Cow label.

Our "local" brew (if you can consider the other end of the state local) is Abita. I've got a couple of gallon jugs I get filled up when I happen to be down there. After about my millionth Miller Light I started to try quality over quantity :D .
Amen on the Shiner bock. I'm kind of a closet Texan.
Speaking of which, seems like I read in some of EastTx's posts that he's a beer guy.

Abita's got some really good stuff. I grew up 10 miles from the brewery and my mom and sister still live there so I try to go when my son and I visit. I can get some of their stuff here in Atlanta but just not the same as fresh out of the tap...
I have a sister in Vermont and enjoyed the beer from Otter Creek brewery in Middlebury. Good stuff. I saw guys coming in with their empty jugs for refills too.

These folks have some awsome brews that you can only get there. They keep around 4 kinds on tap. Keep your MC out of sanford lake for their are far to many stumps.

:toast: Dominion in Northern Virginia is great. I stock up whenever I visit Washington. I had a full refrigerator here for a while but I'm down to my last 5 or 6. Time for another trip to D.C.
