Hi guys,

My boat is temporarily out of use due to fuel pump issues and trailer hub leaking.

Would love to do a service on her.

What would you recommend for a full 500 HRS service and what oils and staff would be best for MCX engine?

I have the hose for getting the oil out of engine through a water hole at the back.

I'm sure the manual will tell you what services to perform, but here's a few things that come to mind.

-Change engine oil and filter (use 15W40 Pennzoil marine or Shell Rotella) NAPA 1069 oil filter
-Change trans fluid and filter if possible (again, 15W40 oil)
-Grease rudder and steering cable (if possible)
-Clean air filter, change spark plugs, cap and rotor, check plug wires
-If you are replacing your fuel pump, make sure to install a new fuel filter as well
-replace engine impeller if more than 2 years old
-Replace belt (if needed or old) check all hoses, tighten all clamps

-check brakes, change oil in bearings, make sure bearings are tight and not noisy
if your bearing caps are all plastic, replace with newer style aluminum one with site glass
-lube winch and trailer jack
-flush out old brake fluid, replace with new fluid

That should keep you busy! :)

This should cover the basics for a boat with 500 hours.
