TT Admin,
Whatever you did during your update you dumped a ton of photos. For example, my tutorial on the Electronic Ignition Conversion is gone and my stereo install thread is also gone (gone meaning the photos are no more). Speaking for myself, my photos here and there are no big deal but it took me like 25 minutes to load all the Elec Ign. photos for that thread (twice, I did it on the old board). I don't want to waste my time again if it's just going to get dumped.

Yeah - its too bad because that ignition upgrade tutorial was the best around. You should have that uploading photo thing down to science by now.

I assume this is what ric was talking about in the "announcements" thread - it's now making sense. If you are missing some pics I know why (I was afraid that this might happen but had my fingers crossed). It's a long tech. story but I'll try to sum it up:
I have a login that allows me to access the database running the photos. Before I updated the software I made a backup "in-case". We'll the "in-case" happened and I had to restore the photos table from the db and start over. Problem is that my login pointed to the old shared server db and not the new dedicated server. Thus the backup I made and restored was old (about 2 weeks old). Hence....some images are lost because the backup I made did have any images recorded since the move to the dedicated server. I apologize for this and it's really a miscommunication issue between myself and MC HQ.
I cannot restore the photos. However, if you send me the pics and a url to the thread...i'll upload them for you and try to fix the thread. Again...sorry for the trouble...
If anyone else lost some pics....I send my apologies to you as well. I guess you live and learn :o

No worries Admin! Glad I'm not the only one that loses stuff like that. I don't feel so bad if an ol' pro like you is having a hard time. ;) I can reload the tutorial.

Brian,
You can just edit the photos back in. Do you still have a copy??

Yes I know that Mark. But it is time consuming to load 20 photos. Plus, you can only post every 30 seconds.

I didn’t realize it was so many.. I do remember that being a worthwhile tutorial though. I’ll bet someone would end up being grateful if you re-did it:worthy:

MarkP,
create your tutorial in Word, save it as a webpage, upload the webpage & image folder to a webspace....
then it's all there through a link
same thing I did with Joe Arpaio and many other things:D

As an Admin on another site, I can say that this issue is far too common when upgrading vB. I lost a lot of pics in a recent upgrade or actually changing servers...
I have the electronic ignition thread archived in PDF and also have all of the individual pics in .jpg. I have a ton of pics archived too...
