Noticed tonight that one of the tower speakers on the new boat (2011 X25) is distorted. The other tower speaker is fine as are the cabin speakers. Before I start poking around at the amps, are there any other obvious things I should check?

1,Check the spaeker connections-make sure they are tight
2,Check the RCA's at the Amp and back of the radio

I used to do loudspeaker engineering, there are a few quick things you can do.

Take off the grill of the speaker and lightly press down with even pressure to move the woofer in and out. If you here or feel any resistance or rubbing the voice coil is fried. It should be smooth movement with no resistance. If that checks out then try switching the outputs on the amp and see if changes to the other speaker.

Edit, just realized you have a new boat so I doubt you've fried your speakers... yet. I'd say just try swapping inputs and outputs on the amp one at a time and see when it switches to the other speaker.

Will check the RCAs, amp, and speaker connections. Thanks!

Well, sure enough it was a wire in the speaker pod that wasn't hooked up. Plugged that wire back in and the distortion went away.
