Spark plug wires [Archive]

I am looking to replace the spark plug wires on a 84 Master Craft with a 351W. The wires currently on the boat are non-resistor. Should I just go to an auto parts store and ask for normal wires for a 351W (which will probably be resistor wires) or is there a place to go to get exactly what came on the boat?
Where can I find what point and plug gap should be used for this boat?

Thanks for your help. You may be saving a beautiful boat from the pitiful ignorance of a bumbling shade tree mechanic.

Plug gap is .035" on my 87 and I think it is the same engine as yours. Not sure about the point gap.

The OEM wires were Taylor 8mm. While that's not what skidim stocks, you can still get them. If anyone has a source and a part #, this would be a good time to post it.

Thanks for the info. I will order the wires today.
0.035” gap sounds right be because that is what I use on the 351W in my Mustang. I wanted to check because I do not know much about boats.
I set the points at 0.020” because that is also what my Mustang calls for. I switched the Mustang over to electronic ignition long ago, but don’t tell my Mustang buddies.
