Hey guys I'm seriously debating moving from Pittsburgh pa to somewhere with say 6-7 months of summer rather than the 3 months we have here.

I want a place with a nice freshwater lake, a younger population( I'm 25) and a place where there's stuff to do would prefer to stay on the east coast.

Thanks

If I were 25 again, central FLA or Jacksonville sound nice. Trunk it at least 9 months a year! :D

You could check out the scene near Atlanta also.......esp. if you like to wakeboard.

Carolina? Not familiar with the east coast, If you get rid of the east coast qualifier I would Highly suggest Austin, TX- Tons of lakes to wakeboard all the way around. Lake Austin, Lake LBJ, there are some smaller lakes about 45 minutes south that a lot of pros use that are primarily wakeboarding lakes. You can board without wet suit from about April through October.

+1 for Nashville.

Healthcare/hospitals pretty entrenched here. HCA, Vandy, Baptist...

Grew up in Atlanta...Nashville has the local charm Atlanta had 15-20 years ago.

Younger crowd with good watersports scene.

Pack your bags yo.

It still snows in Nashville on a regular basis. You need to be south of Atlanta if you want a 9 month season. Sure you could get 9 months anywhere if you want to dry suit it or suffer.

Take a look at Charleston, SC. There are two rivers, Cooper and the Ashely. You are close to Lake Moultrie. The beaches are close, there is plenty of night life. Also, MUSC and Trident are possible employers. It has a low cost of living and very mild winters. Also, Trophy Lakes is there and they frequently have pro events. I went to college there and loved it!

Look at Greenville, SC. Lots of brand new hospitals that are part of the Greenville Hospital System. Weather is nice - sunny and 90 for Easter. Greenville also has a very nice downtown, as well as some nice lakes. Lake Hartwell and Lake Keowee are both within commuting distance. The water temp. on Hartwell is 72 right now. Carolina MasterCraft in Anderson has a great pro shop for all your boating/wakeboarding needs.

central florida but very congested and plenty of surface water for recreation. in any case, choose a state that does not have a state income tax. i think there are 6 or 7 but the following come to mind: fla, tn, nevada, tx (?).

I wouldn't say on a regualr basis. Average annual snow fall is 9 or 10 inches. However I will agree the weather is not warm enough to get the long ski season you would get farther south.

There are only five Tn, Tx, Nv, Fl, and Wa.

Florida would be your best pick out of all those for year round skiing...
