I am in the market for an older Mastercraft boat. A friend's dad offered me his 1999 Sportstar 190 OB for $10,000. It comes with a trailer and has about 350 hours on it. I have been unable to find a lot of information on this boat boat; it seems like a good deal for a 1999 (granted I have been looking at Prostars before). Any insight into this boat would be greatly appreciated. Does this seem like a good deal? Anything I should be worried about with this model?

*Sorry for the wrong boat model in the title. Thanks for the clarification east tx skier.

Pretty sure that hull is the "leftover" hull from the 1995-1997 Prostar model years, isn't it? If so, it was a great hull. My recollection though was that the Sportstar used a somewhat bland interior scheme.

The boat rides a little higher in the water than current Prostars, but had a really nice slalom wake.

Price sounds very good. What engine is in it?

The Sportstar 19 OB should be a very good slalom. That is the 95--97 Pro Star hull with the bow cut out. That boat became the 195 in the 2000--2001 model years. The Sportstar interior is a bit more bland than the Pro Star model, but the rest is the same. Should be sporting at least 310 hp if its the TBI Chevy motor.

Thank you for the responses. I am going to look at the boat tomorrow and will probably bring more questions.

If the boat is clean and well maintained that sounds like a very good deal. One of the best skiing hulls MC ever made.
