View Full Version : 2006 X2 MCX Tranny Fluid question

Was going to syphon up the transmission fluid in my 06 X2 with MCX and checked the dipstick prior and it appears to be standard oil... no transmission fluid (no red).
Any idea what to replace this with? Guess I could call the dealership that used to service and see what they were using... just thought I would get some opinions on what might be in there.

Thanks!
Jake

It is not tranny fuild for sure. I'm not sure what grade oil it is as I've yet to change mine.

Yup, 15w40. Used the same rotella T as the engine oil. Changed mine last November when I winterized the boat, planning on changing it every year

15w40 in my 03 x2. From what I've read, they used to run tranny fluid in them, but had trouble with noise and switched to 15w40.

I saw that sticker but scratched my head and wondered if it was for the tranny or not.

Thanks guys, guess I know the plan!

There's a filter too. Changed mine at 100hrs and it looked brand new. I'd say they're good for a couple hundred hrs at least unless there's other issues. They're not cheap either.
