Just picked up my first Mastercraft last Friday. It's a 2011 X-15 with the 5.7 Ilmor. Got her wet for the first time on Sunday. Just need the water to warm up so I can make use of that wake.

First off, great looking boat!

My question is about the aluminum door. I was told they can rattle a lot. What was your experience with the door? Was it noisy?

I didn't notice any rattling. I had it closed because we were getting ready to trailer it. When I was out on the lake I didn't notice any rattling but at full tilt into a 15mph headwind I couldn't hear a whole lot... It seems pretty snug though.

I think it rattles more while in the stowed position. While moving you got some air pressure against it when it is in the position closing off the bow section.

Nice! I wish mine had the color on the interior like that, really makes the inside pop.

That is one beautiful boat you have. Welcome to the Mastercraft World, your going to love it. Go buy yourself a dry suit or wet suit and get in the water behind that boat. You did not buy that great machine for it to sit in your drive way. LOL, Nice purchase for your first MC!

I thought about that but I had it sitting out in the sun for a good bit that day I didn't really notice unbearable heat. We will see though once I sit on the lake for hours at a time.

nothing a damp towel or a small squirt bottle can't fix on the really hot days. Thats a sharp boat dude, congrats.

So I wanted to revisit this... With the door in the folded up position I did notice a good bit of rattle this past weekend while we were out cruising around. The water wasn't to rough either. it didn't really bother me a whole lot but it was there.

On my 2007 X2 I had the same problem. I put a koozie between the panels and it took care of the rattle. On my 09 X15 there is no rattle. Your dealer may be able to adjust latch to stop rattle.

No rattle on my 08. That door is a fantastic feature. We use it all the time.
