Seven Marine of Mequon WI now marinizing the Caddy CTS-V supercharged engine with a ZF transmission for marine use in an ...... OUTBOARD! 557hp. About the size of a Merc Verado? That I have to see. Unfortunately there are no good pics in the article, but check it out. Pricetag should be interesting.

Well......it might not be loud enough to satisfy some people.

However, I would REALLY like to hear what the thing sounds like opened up.

You could really sling some tooooobers around behind a 20' boat with 557hp hanging on the back!

I am pretty much certain that 7 Marine's new outboard will never be put on anything smaller than a 30' center console with the 1000lbs weight of a motor. The idea is very interesting, though as the center console and express style outboards are getting bigger and bigger every year!

My jaw dropped. I'm thinking show ski teams. Mount a few of those to a 'Dyne and see what kind of pulling power they have.

That's quite a setup. When I grew up a 40hp on a glastron pulled us up. I can't imagine saying "hit it" with that engine.

I have never understood how the transom of a boat could support those big outboards? This is just insane! There must be about two thousand pounds on the very back of that boat with twin monster outboards.

There is an article in Boating Magazine about these. "Rumor" says $69K each.
