Well it's def been a while, but i got around to restoring the hull. I used a combination of Meguires One-Step Compound with a 4 speed dewalt polisher. We then used some Star bright on the tower, and a shop vac to clean out the interior. Removed all the seats etc, and did a complete washing / detailing... Overall im very happy with the results.

was really impressed with how the one-step compound worked even by hand. The wax on the other hand did not do so well with the high speed buffer, and next time i will do it only by hand.

That looks great especially for a Florida boat that see salt. Great job!!

yea, now it's time to put her up for sale haha... Any estimates as to how much a 94 prostar outfitted like this one is going for? I see them range from 13k - 10k... I was thinking ~$10,000

well the polish didn't last... left the boat in dry storage for the week, went to check on it yesterday all the fading is back. Its shiny and smooth, but the fading came back... oh well

That's too bad...you need to cut more into the finish.
Probably need to wet sand, then rough compond, then fine compound, then polish...then wax.
Then it will last.

yea, i guess i need to do the sanding.... kinda scares me
boats for sale anyways so im not too worries haha

Did the tower have any pitting in it from the salt water or abuse? If so or not did the star bright work good on the metal surfaces and last? The boat was looking great, Jorski is right about the gel coat.

no not pitting, it was just dirty and faded, the tower cleaned up nice with starbright and a coarse pad....
04-07-2011, 04:20 PM
What kind of course pad did you use?
04-07-2011, 04:20 PM
