View Full Version : Is this the right Thermostat Gasket? (pic)

I am replacing the thermostat gasket on my 2006 X-2 (MCX 350) and the dealer
gave me the below gasket, accompanied by a "I think this is the right one".

When I am looking at the existing gasket which I need to scrape off (Anyone have any good methods for this?) it does not appear to have the 4 brass rivets? Is this the correct gasket, anyone know?

Ran into this issue when replacing the Tstat gasket on my 08 MCX.

I also received a gasket with brass fittings whereas my original gasket did not. I was able to pull out the brass fittings and temporarily use the incorrect gasket. But, I eventually ordered a different gasket without the fittings. FWIW, the different gasket was still not the same, but worked fine.

Thanks for the reply VISION. I am not sure if they are there to keep you from smashing the gasket or what? I just want to be sure to put the right one on!
