Just pulled the trigger on a 2006 X-15. MCX, only 115 hours, all fresh water, upholstery immaculate...

that being said... any issues with that model or that year anyone remembers? It has the older style tower, which I like just fine- first year they made it, and it seems great overall.

The deal is done pending any disaster during compression test, and overall check out of systems.

Any "aha" moments you all can remember from the inaugural year of the X15 I should get checked out?

Thanks!

Congrats! Change Raw water impeller, inspect old one.........Ballast pumps, ballast impellers, ballast gauges, scan for codes, test drive, watch for low voltage alarms they can be really annoying, PP issues, salt water, milky oil, v-drive oil, gelcoat damage, board rack issues, bimini top issues, WATER LEAKS, etc...

KEEP YOUR TOWER KNOBS TIGHT otherwise you will lose them.

Other than that, great choice of boat!

could be wrong, but I always thought 07 was the first year they made the x15.

more hours than I thought, so must be a different boat
"This 2007 is priced to sell! Only 195 hours on the 385hp Inmar engine and the boat comes with all the right options, including trailer. Very clean and well taken care of!"

Check to see if the bottom of the of the boat rubs on the trailer. Our 06 Maristar did.

Love the color - might be a bit biased though. I bet it really pops on the water! GV!

What did you end up paying for the boat? In the market for something similar.

Very nice boat. Doesn't seem to be a lot of orange boats around, so you'll stand out on the water.

That's is a great looking boat. Not to steal your thread StuSX, but I also just recently (2 weekend's ago) purchased a 06 X-15. First Mastercraft boat that I have owned. Very excited to get out on the water. I was also wondering about any known issues with this year?

'06 MCX, 151 hrs, immaculate interior, freshwater only, new tires on the trailer, Overall GREAT shape. Here is a pic of mine. If you don't mind me asking What did you pay for it? You can PM me if you want.

Nice tug! I debated long and hard between an X2 and X15. Only reason I went with the X2 was I found a killer deal on it.
FWIW, my buddy just bought an 06 X15 and he was looking to wire up some lights up above the side cupholders. Said the boat is pre-wired for courtsey lights on both sides at the side cupholders. Wires are labeled "courtesy 4" and "courtesy 5."
Will make the install pretty painless.

i too went back and forth x2 or x15 and went x2 for slightly better slalom wake and price. Neighbor has the x15 and is killer boat for surf.

I just purchased this 2006 X-15! 130 hrs, 1 prior owner, fresh water only, heater, racks, table, filler cushion, no tower speakers..., overall great shape. Very excited this is my first Mastercraft and first inboard boat I previously owned a cobalt. I am in the process of purchasing tower speakers (after market of course) and hope to be on the lake soon!

Just like these other guys I would like to know any thing interesting about it but also would like to know why you went with an X-15 instead of a different model. Also if you got a different model why that instead of a X-15? For me we like the 15 because of the size of the interior combined with its reputation of an all around good boat for all different sports. We water ski, wake board, surf, and the kids tube.

Thanks,

Welcome to the club. You will love the X-15. I have had only one issue with my 06 and that was nothing major. The wire for the anchor light got pinched in the tower and was not working. simple fix. I went with this boat because it is huge inside but not a beast to dock and trailer. It is a great all around boat. I am also a traditionalist in the since I like only one point at the front of my boat.

Is a table standard? I need to see about that for mine.. My 2006 VLX had one, and we used it all the time...

I don't believe its standard but its an option on the 15. I think, and someone else can correct me, that its a standard option on the larger boats? I believe that you can order one from your local dealer. My dad has a Cobalt and wanted a table, he found one online that is actually better than ours and it was only $275 and very easy to install. I can find out what site he found it on if you want.
