Yes for sure , as I own own a Mitsubishi dealership and like to follow whats going on in my trade.
Also I live only 40 miles away from from where they film this ,so on list of things to do is to go to one of the shows.

Top entertament.

Haha UK version is hilarious! I didn't like the American version quite as much.
Bought my Dad a few of the seasons off Amazon this Christmas if you ever want them on DVD

Great show!! I have been watching for a couplen of years now and I have been catching up with previous seasons on Netflixs.

The USA version started off slow, but was improving when the season ended. However you can't beat the personalities of the UK version.

Watched since '05 & love it. The US version will never be the same with different hosts and 10% of the production budget BBC doles out, but I really enjoyed seeing full-on American cars. I hope the US version can pull it together - the Alaska truck episode gave me hope that the producers have a chance to get it right. I'm doing business with a company in Surrey right now and want to see if I can get in to see a taping, but the waiting list is pretty long, so I'm told.

At least with the US verion, I have an easier shot of seeing a taping when I go back to OC.

Where do they do the show? I used to live in Essex in Romford. I spent a few years in London.
All the engineers in our office take lunch together & watch Top Gear on the projectors. It's a great show!

Since this is a boating forum, I thought this would be an appropriate intro for folks who haven't seen the show yet.

Watch it whenever I get a chance and see that it is on. I really enjoy the competitions between the hosts to accomplish a task under a set budget. The amphibious cars may have been the best of these competitions.

Best show on TV! My wife is British and last year when we went over to visit family I got to go to the Top Gear Museum in Beaulieau (sp?) at the AutoJumble. The US versioni has a loooooong way to go to eveer catch up with the real deal. IMO< first thing they need to do is get some interesting hosts and the rest will follow. Its the hosts that make the show!

The rating for UK Top gear are great down under, we also have an Aussie version, and by the sound of it, it is similar to the US version (not as good).

Here's an interesting article from James May, citing why he hates the US presenters/hosts. It at once gives hope/support for the new hosts, and dashes it in contrast to James' whitty writing style.

It's true the US presenters have universally cool names. Almost too cool -- I wonder if they had it down to 5 or 6 candidates and just picked the three coolest sounding ones. It's the American thing to do, after all.

BTW, I like Top Gear US. That said, I don't see it ever being as popular or as successful as the UK version.

its the best show on our screens...they are totally un-PC and a breath of fresh air.....they tell it how it is....they get criticised for only showing cars that most can only dream about....but,so what, thats why we dream....

It's one of the few shows that are auto-recorded on my DVR every week. Even my wife likes it. I agree that the U.S. version was lame.

My favorite Top Gear (UK) show was when they came to the U.S. and drove some muscle cars from California to the Bonneville Salt flats. I also liked when they went to NASCAR country and then drove up to New York, complaining about our insanely slow speed limits. Funny stuff. 8p

Its one of the best shows on TV. Highlights for me are double-decker racing and the segment on the Reliant Robin.

Watch it every Monday. Love the episode with the BMW M3, the Mercedes C63 AMG, and the Audi RS4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaZExdTHHjY). Even though it's 4 years old I still love the RS4.

I love Top Gear UK.

My favorite episodes are the ones with the trip through France with the Zonda, the GT40, and the F430, the episode with the 70's Italian supercars, and the episode where they search for the best driving road and end up on the transfdds?uir?whateveritis highway.

The thing that I love about the show, aside from that it is just entertaining, is that I feel like I get a real feel for what the cars they drive are like. You get pretty pictures and a bunch of facts from the manufacturer's spec sheet with every other show, but with Top Gear you get that sense of what it is like to drive and own the car.
