I was working on my 93 prostar 205 and the weather was sunny and 32. I put my knee on the passenger seat and the leather cracked like ice! How can I fix this? Should i get the seat re leathered? Please help!!

Is it leather or is it vinyl? If its vinyl, you can get a new skin from mastercraftskins.com or Jim the upholstery guy. If it's actually leather, then it's not OEM and I would love to see some pictures.

You got leather interior in your ride? Your knee shouldn't crack leather. Got any pictures of the damage?

I'm thinking it's vinyl then.. how much will it be to replace the sheets?

Back when you could get them from MC, the observer seat bottom wad around $80 IIRC.

If it's original, it's vinyl. Constant exposure to water ruins leather, comments about cows standing in the rain, notwithstanding. Cow hide is one thing but leather used for upholstery has a finish on it, which does crack and split.

Cold vinyl is brittle and if it has been exposed to UV, it's even more brittle. If it split at a seam, you'll need to at least replace the insert but it may be better and cost less if you just get a new skin for that seat.

Where should I go to replace the observer bottom. Also the back seat has a little crack.

Interestingly, the CC Paragon in 93 had a leather interior. Pretty neat boats.

Hard to say without knowing where you are.

I live in IL, in a northwest suburb of Chicago.

You could probably call the MC dealer in your area to find our who they use for upholstery.

Last spring I had the same seat bottom replaced on my 93 205 which is vinyl at a local interior shop for $ 75. including the vinyl that we matched up very good.

Match up the vinyl outside in the natural sun light NOT inside under florecent lamps etc.
