Thinking of getting rid of our fty MC cans with forward lights and replacing them with 2 Pro 80's in the outboard positions. then putting the little forward light pods in the two middle spots.

We have a black bimini, so am thinking black speakers would look the best.

Searched google, but came up empty.

Does anyone have Wet Sounds Pro 60's or 80's on their 07'newer tower they can post a few pictures of? wanna make sure i like the look.

Thanks in advance.

Jim, noticed on the yellow MC to the right of that Xstr has the little pod lights mounted on top. Are these the pre'07 lights mounted on top?

Fantastic sound.

Is that a trailer for an X80 or CSX265? looks like it doesnt fit the X55. I like those steps on the front.. ours only has the one (which is all it needs).

If you end up going with the WetSounds, let me know I would be intersted in purchasing your factory cans.

Looks like Wetsounds deleted their gallery of install pictures from end users. I am sure that Tim at Wetsounds has a gazillion better pics than what we have so far and could really help. I would shoot them a call or email and I bet you have some pictures very quickly.

wow woodhog. I only have 2 - pro80's, and they sound amazing. I can only imagine how 4 of them sound.

Just wait until you put the recommended power to them. Which stock amp are they using these days...still something like 60 Watts per channel?

unbelievable. Maybe overkill....on second thought nah.

I think Wetsounds recommends a Syn 2 for a pair of the Pro 80s. I have a pair of the 485s and ideally they would each get a Syn 2. Right now I'm running them off an older Soundstream that I was using before that's giving them each around 350 Watts and they get obnoxious if I want them too. I was thinking about a pair of Syn 2s or Arc KS 300.2s but other than gaining some efficiency with the Class H amps I just didn't need any more output and couldn't justify spending the money.

We still have the galleries on our site. Under gallery, click installations and the boat brands drop down. There is a ton of MC pics with various set ups.

You can run a SYN-2 to a pair or two pairs. 200x2 at 4 ohms and 350x2 at 2 ohms so 175 per speaker. If you are only doing one pair and do not plan on adding the second pair. You can use a SYN-4 bridged in 2 ch mode for 400x2 and get some more power with some added headroom.

Let me know anything I can do to help

Not the best picture, but 2 Pro 80's and 2 MB8's on a 2008 MS200. They do hang down a fair bit on the tower so if you are tall...duck!

What do you think of the MB8's? I have 2 pro 80's with a syn 2 and have considered adding MB8's. Thanks for input.

Thanks, Tim. I did not think of clicking on the installation tab. I knew the site had a variety of install pics, but forgot how to access it.

I find that the 2 Pro 80's throw out plenty of the "highs" so having 2 MB8's along side gives more mid bass....depends on the sound you are looking for. Seems to be a good setup for me.

Thanks. I like the pro 80's for the volume, but they have a little too much "highs" for me also. Guess I'll try adding the MB8's. Thanks again

Don't want to comment on that one. That IS NOT something Bay Area installed. It was s mess
2006 LIGHTS installed on top. Not the greatest install!!

woodhog,
Yes, its true that your tower system has to be underpowered by what you have. Redistributing the existing power will be plenty for in the boat.
Since you have a pair of 80s and a pair of MB8s, these are of a symmetrical size and should receive equal power to each. The WetSounds Syn2 would deliver 700 watts in this application with 175 to each of four speakers. This should provide enough power to be within a few DB of the speakers' full potential. Two bridged Syn4s would deliver 400 watts to each of the four speakers. Its double the rated continuous power for these speakers but its often done by those looking to get the maximum dynamic headroom (contrast and clarity and not just increased volume) from this set-up...but only for those who exercise a bit of discipline.

woodhog,
If I misunderstood and you actually have two pair of Pro80s (vs a pr of 80s and a pr of MB8s)then the above recommendations still apply.

The 200/2 is going to the tower so I should go with a Syn2 for good sound?

woodhog,
Yes, with the Syn2 you would be going from 50 watts to each of four speakers to 175 watts to each. Big difference!

Probably the easiest to install based on the current set up.
