View Full Version : Proper installation of Attitude Adjustment Plate on X35

An attitude adjustment plate was installed on my 2008 X35 by the dealer. I was surprised to find that it does not retract up behind the boat to be "out of the way" when fully raised, like other trim tabs I've seen. Instead, it sticks straight out behind the boat like and extension of the hull.

Is this the correct installation, or did the dealer make a mistake? I can't find any photos anywhere to indicate what is correct...

I don't beleive mine retrancts up passed horizontal. Not the best angle but you can see that the attitude plate is horizontal.

My 2010 X-15 is horizontal just as in the picture. Came from the manufacture that way.

I guess that makes me feel better. It seems, though, that the essentially extended hull changes the characteristics of the wake, especially for wake surfing. Any idea why MC chose not to have the thing retract to at least one position where it wouldn't influence the wake?

Here is a picture of my x35 plate. It is flat.

if i see it right they put the bracket on the boat to low. There for they need to place the two black brackets on the plate otherwise the plate was even lower as it is right now.
On the photo in this reply you will see a orginal wakeplate on a 09 x35 in his highest position.

That is the way that the tab should be mounted, and at that height it may look like it is going to mess with the wake but it actually wont.

This one actually looks like it retracts a small amount from the plane of the bottom of the boat. I really don't understand why they don't make it retract further, so that it is not in contact with the water when fully raised... Are they trying to compensate for a design issue with the boat?!

You guys are looking at where the tabs turn down at the edges which makes it look like the tab is running in the water all the time affecting the boat attitude when in reality the tab is all the way out of the water.
