I have been lurking here for a while, every since I sold my last inboard... last year. I have been looking for about the last 5 months for the perfect boat for me. You know what they say... when you see the one... you just know. Well after being discouraged I was really wondering if I was going the come across THE ONE. I had been looking at all brands and trying to find the perfect one that fit my bill. Well as soon as I saw this 2003 Prostar 209 I just knew it... :D This boat is about the cleanest and newest looking used boat I have ever seen. It is equipped with Mastercraft Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro, Ballast, Zero Flex Tower, Tower Speakers, Monster Surf and Wakeboard Tower racks, and more. I am really excited about it and thought I would share... and say I am very happy to be officially a part of Team Talk.

Thanks,
Dylan

Wow, that is a sweet looking boat. Congrats. Will you have a chance to get out and use it right away or are you going to have to wait awhile for better weather.

Great Looking Boat. I have had my Prostar 209 for 5 years and wouldn't trade it for anything. It's like driving a Ferrari on the water.

Exact color scheme of the 03 X-9 I sold last year, including trailer (except graphics of course). We loved that boat. Have a blast.

Thanks for the support guys! Can someone tell me whether or not this a 310 or 350hp... I know it is the MCX... but I am new here and want to make sure what I have. Also, where are the drain plugs on this one... just to make sure. I bought it from a guy with a heated basement garage and It will be in a insulated garage with me... and I don't think I will have anything to really worry about... but I would like to drain the blocks... I tend to worry (March can be a weird weather month in TN) and would like to have the peace of mind. We took it out this past weekend (about 70 degrees here) but this upcoming weekend it will get as low as 32 degrees. Probably around 40 in the garage. I know it will continue to warm up from here on... I just want to make sure. Any advice is appreciated! Here is a couple more pics of the interior and the motor...

Damn that boat looks clean. Love to see well-taken care of boats. Always makes me want to meet the original owner and tell them thank you.

Should be 350hp.

350hp. nice looking boat.

And that is a great engine for that boat -- with either transmission option.

Thanks... I am noticing it has a lot of the upgraded options... MCX motor...I noticed that mine has two standard switches for ballast. There is a sac in the walk way to the bow and I am assuming the back ballast is under the rear seat? Looks like there is a port there. The previous owner never used the ballast. It also has the dispenser that squirts out liquid to make your boots go on easier? It's fun finding things... I am just not thinking this boat was a standard 209?

Anyone have any insite on my Ballast question and where might the drain plugs be for the block on the MCX?

drain plugs on the MCX are on either side of the engine block. The one on the driver's side is also the water temp senor and the other one is a brass plug. sorry i dont remember where the balast diain is

Hi Lakeside, great looking boat! The second switch is indeed for the rear ballast. If the prior owner didn't give you the rear bag, you can get one here: http://www.wakemakers.com/wakeboard-ballast-bags. They should have the factory spec bag with the fittings to match your ports. If the prior owner didn't use the ballast system, you may need to replace the impellars. The pumps are located on the stern of the boat. You'll have to pull out the back panel in your ski locker to access them.

There should be a plug on each side of the block. One side will be have an anti-knock sensor on it. I would drain all the hoses as well. There are far more qualified TT members on here, but I'll help you any way I can. Hope this helps.

So where will I be placing the bag? Under the seat? Slightly confused...

Thanks for all the info guys! :D

Yes the bag sits under the seat. Typically, you need to raise the seat when you fill the bag.

if you raise the seat to the upper level to make a big sundeck, make sure you attach the bungie straps so it doesn't blow out when driver

if you ever need another back seat i have one in TN

2RLake,
I might be interested in a spare seat. Could you email or post a pic of the seat you have. Also how much you would like for it?

I wonder what would be the best choice and what hook up I would need for the rear ballast? Also I'd really like to find a 2003 owners manual... I know the pdf form on the website is nice but it's all black and white and you can't really see anything...

I know what fly high sac I need, but I was curious about the hook up... looks to me like I have several ports under my rear seat.

Take a look at the 2004 manual which is in color. There were very few changes made between 2003 and 2004 so it may help.
