I just recently bought two extra cans for my boat with no speakers. I was wanting to change out the old clarion ones anyways and was wondering if it is possible to put any 6.5" speaker in them. Also can you change the clamps on the cans as well. My tower doesn't have an extra brace for two more and they are the kind that screw directly into the tower. I am sure I can fabricate some clamps for them or put a brace but I think it would be a lot easier if I could just change them over to clamps. Also does it matter if I just leave the tweeter in there for looks and don't replace the tweeter?

The Clarion marine midbass driver is a standard 6.5" speaker. Any coaxial with a 6.875" O.D. or just slightly larger grill and a 5" or just slightly larger basket opening should drop in.
However, you may have some difficulty finding another hexagon speaker.
