anybody changed the black plastic cupholders to stainless - wondering if the size and depth are fairly uniform? If so, can you tell me where you got them from? My guess is any would work, except for the back ones (on a X1) where you have only a certain depth they can be since they are mounted basically right off the floor.

Depending on the boat you have to be careful changing them out. If your boat has aluminum trim where the cup holders are you'll get corrosion from the two different metals being in contact. If it's on fiberglass you'll be fine. There have been several posts on guys switching out their cup holders.

Bought mine from Bakes Marine:

http://www.bakesonline.com/detail.aspx?ID=643

Got the 3-1/8" depth ones and they are very nice, have a seal around the lip. Was an easy switch and they look nice, fit right, and don't rattle around.

Anyone add LEDs after installation? If so how many to one cup holder?

I replaced all of mine on my Maristar 210VRS with the cupholders from SKIDIM.com. The original plastic ones were siliconed into place, I just pull them out, and placed the the stainless ones back into place.

Got the ones from SKIDIM they are a tight fit. I used a little bit of silicone to hold them in, but didnt need it. LED stuck in the bottom hole. They are good quality, I like them.

Black, but I'd take a grey one if it fits.

Walmart has them here for about 5.00

I'll have to go check.

I never give it a thought until I get in the boat.

Except when I get on here and the topic comes up.

Looks like someone used gorilla glue on mine. Going to be a PITA to remove without breaking the rest of the console. Might have to auger them out!

Lets see the LED applications!

Here seems to be the cheapest I have found them. Going to order three for the motor cover on my 205. I just vinyl dyed it black, should look good with the stainless.

There are a couple of different sizes out there. Make sure these fit your boat.

Did you just install one LED per cup holder? Did you use the drain hole or drill a new one?

I left the original drainholes and mounted 4 3mm leds in amber and uv purple on the shoulder on the cup holder. I drilled big enough to set each 3mm in but would push through then I used epoxy and wired em up. Very easy but tedious to wire. Only hard thing about it is because I did 2 different colors on different lines with switches. if it were one color it would have been a lot easier.

Looks good thanks for the tips. My next problem is running out of AUX switches. I can not find more to match the existing any ideas on more new old stock toggle switches?

No, I am looking for the black oval switches similar to the dash switches in the prostar.
