With some weight already on the starboard side with the driver why do I hear and see most surfing done on the port side? Rotation of prop provide better wake or is it just preference?

I have read on a few sights that prop rotation does support a better surf wake on the port side. That said, I have seen plenty of good surf wakes on starboard as well.

Most prefer toes to be pointed at the wake.

Unless you are goofy footed then you surf the starboard side. I get a better surf wake on the starboard side anyways!!!!

so it sounds like preference more than physics. most of the time there will just be 2 people in the boat so starboard is heavier and i am right foot front anyway.

I have mine set up with 400Lb sacs in the back with the IBS in the front. We fill the rear and then roll half the IBS so that it only fills the Starboard side. Speed for us is 9.5 - 10.5!

Personal pref. Fewer goofy foot riders and surfing is easier facing the wave.
