Just got a 93 Prostar 205. Has 700 hours and super clean. Has a monster tower and bimi. Im looking to get new interior speakers, subwoofer and tower speakers. For the interior I was looking at the polk 6.5s. Subwoofer kicker or mtx. and Tower speakers no more then 600. I found aerial speakers doubles with 2 each (4 total) which have polks for 420 shipped on ebay.. And ideas?
Thanks guys!

I have the 1994 version with the same tower. I added speakers this past year and have a woofer and amps ready to go in now. I dont have all the information on speakers and such since I am traveling on business. Here is one picture I can show. Picked a different location for the tower speakers.
Once i return I will see what I can find.

For what it is worth, I have listened to and actually tried several speaker brands. Polk and Bazooka were two I actually got to listen too but did not own. I bought a X-9 two years ago that came with some really nice speakers, but I can't remember the name of them. I remember the guy gave me a reciept for the $1800 he spent. I "thought" they were nice and loud. Then someone on here recommended Wetsounds. I started researching them and could not find a bad word said about them. I found a local dealer and was blown away. I do not think there is anything out there better than a compression horn loaded speaker. They were pricey at $999 for a pair of Pro-80's but OMG. I would save any money you are going to spend on speakers and buy a set of them. Also, buy an amp that can actually drive them properly. I am currently using a JL Audio 6 ch with channels 1/2 & 3/4 bridged to power them and they are amazing with only half teh power they can actually take powering them. I look forward to buying a Syn4 to power them soon.

BTW...I don't even really use the in boat speakers anymore.

If you do get/replace your cabin speakers, the Polk DB651s are hard to beat for the money.

The speakers I bought were from H2O WaterSports Warehouse on Ebay http://stores.ebay.com/H2O-Sports-Warehouse

They come with a Polk Speakers that I matched for the sides and bought from Amazon.

Are they the best, No. Did they break my budget, No. Are they loud? They are not hooked up to the Amp yet so only time will tell.

Here are a few more pictures.

The Polk DB speakers are actually quite loud and remain clear with some pretty high gains to them. However, they will perform better in the cockpit than they will on the tower based on what I have read and seen. That is to say, they aren't designed as a tower speaker and probably won't give you really clear sound at the end of the rope while underway. But they will perform well as an extra pair of speakers for the area surrounding the boat.

I'm getting polks in the boat. What kind of amp should i run and how many watts? Also should I run another battery? Ill be hooking up a subwoofer. As for the tower speakers I'm not sure yet.
