I have a 2007 mc x-15 , looking for the tower speaker cans/ speakers. my question is. will the cans from say a 2004 mc fit on the 2007 mc tower? basically asking if the mounting hardware is universal for each year or not?

And does any one have any cans they want to part with?

04 is different, 05, 06 and 07 are compatible I believe (flush mount). The 08s to current are universal also (pod mount). To answer your question, i don't think 04's will fit an 07 tower.

Why not aftermarket, such as wet sounds?

Small clarification- '07 to current have the little pods (not flush mount).

There does exist an adaptor for older speaker cans to mount onto the '07 an newer towers. they cost about 25 bucks a pop and made by gear marie (sp?).

I keep hearing about wet sounds, are they a better tower speaker? or just less ecpensive?

I have pro 485's and they are unreal. They are a great speaker for the price. I would also add that using the correct amp is just as important. I have the syn 6 amp which seems to work really well.

But.... they are off a 2004, I didn't see the post above. I wonder if I will have a hard time selling them if they don't fit newer models

ahh, yeah im having trouble finding ones that will fit my 2007 mc, so thats why im considering just going with Wet sounds. i still perfer the overall look of OEM cans though. and i love JL audio so well see. Good luck selling your 04 cans.

Wetsounds makes an awesome product
I was looking at buying some of their speakers but instead I bought a set of speakers, cans, and another amp from a company called BulletLines.
I will post a link to their page but you should give Ken at Bulletlines a call. I was really impressed with their quality and price

Can you post a picture of the bulletlines set up on your MC? the mounting bracket looks really big. do the speakers hang down far?
