My old neighbor has been pestering me for the last several months to buy his old ski's. Startedd out wnating to sell me a EP ski for $50, guess he got tired of trying to sell me just the one and insisted I buy all the ski's for $50.

My question is; the EP ski is supposed to be a great ski, (probably was back in the day) however the binding is kind of tore up. Are there new bindings available (I wear size 12-13), and is it even worth messing with?

I just ski for fun, my kids just visit for the summer since they live with their MOM. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

Man, I bought that exact EP ski back in the early 80s. :D I've replaced the binding one time and it still looks brand new! I hate to admit it, but I still ski on it from time to time (no course). I like the ski but I out grew it a long time ago. I'm going to cut back on my wakeboarding and try to do more barefooting and slalom this year so I'm looking for a new ski. I haven't done any serious slalom in years and I don't have any idea what ski to get.

We don't have a course and my friends and family will slalom on one of our combos because NONE of them like the EP. It likes to stay on edge and it turns very quickly. I don't think a 30 year old ski is worth anything, but if it's in good shape, use it!

Thanks went on the Wileys web site they have one for a $125 that I guess would work. There are a few dings on the ski, what do you guys think is it worth the investment???

I am more of a recreational skiier than a hard core slalom skiier that spends more time dragging people around than having the oppurtunity to ski.

Would consider giving the ski to someone if they had a real interest in it....but you pay shipping

I know $125 is more than I paid for my EP new off the shelf. It was an "End of Summer Sale". I don't think it's worth the money to put a new boot on it (IMO). Can't tell from your pics, but if I look really close on my ski, there are some stress cracks on the top in front of the boot. But I also skied the crap out of mine for years.

In the day that EP model was quite good, I skied the EP Comp 1 model and loved it, for several seasons.
If the ski is not structually damaged it IS worth putting new bindings on and skiing. Probably not worth much as a collector ski though. I think you got a good deal of skiing for the money. : )

Loved my Comp 1 back when......over time it grew a little soft and I replaced it with a HO.

Now that I've grown a little soft, I hope my wife doesn't replace me with a ho!

I know what you mean. The Comp I did flex more with time, I replaced mine with a Kidder Redline, very stiff ski.

Now I ride Connellys and have a couple of vintage Maherajahs that I restored, for cruising.

Same story here. Bought one in the early 80's and skied the heck out of it.
