Very Nice! I'm waiting for mine, I picked the white version. I wish it was here now. I chose the 5.7 Ilmore because we mainly only pull skiers. You better post a pic or two of that new Ilmore engine.

What do your think of the new engine now that you have one?

Holy Cow, I post the pic and a couple of hours later....

1. "Lose Arms w/6.0" Before deciding on this engine I was present at the boat tests last fall and the slalom skiers comments were extremely positive. I did not want it unless it was a good slalom boat.

2. Prop size this year is 13X14.5 for the 6.0 (as opposed to 14.25X14 last year)

3. Top Speed? Only 2 hrs on the engine, don't want to go there yet.

4. Engine Pic? Here you go..also answer to concerns about changing spark plugs, no problems.

5. Picture with good looking woman? Just might be able to satisfy the request come Saturday...stay tuned!

Great looking boat!

It will be interesting to "feel" the pull difference btwn the 5.7L and 6.0L/different prop sizes in the course. Hopefully, they will be similiar; tournaments are already tough enough:)

Ref pic, it appears MC finally found the right gas strut length or placement to allow the engine cover to raise higher; or is it the angle of the shot???

They changed the position of the brackets and it opens a lot more now!! no more taking them off to do an oil change!!!

Sorry, my time is still limited with the boat (5hrs) but have positive comments from all slalom skiers that have skied the boat. That is only about five skiers and the best being a young lady running mid 38off, all comments that the "pull" felt great. I think you will be pleased with the 6.0, as I am. BTW, the boat is #52

Sullivan
02-24-2011, 10:45 PM
Thanks, glad to hear its working out well.

What is the hose on the exhuast manifold just below the spark plug? I don't suppose thats a hose that connects the two manifolds together and has a fitting to allow quick draining of the manifolds is it?

That oil cooler is huge too.

gchapman-tt
02-25-2011, 08:03 AM
That hose connects to a remote-mount thermostat housing, they will be disconnected at the manifold when you receive the boat. Also, rather than drain plugs directly in the block, there are short sections of hose mounted to the drain holes with a compression cap end which is nice. Yes, they do use a "beefy" trans cooler.

corey
02-25-2011, 10:25 AM
The tranny cooler also cools the engine oil which is why it is so over-sized compared to previous generation coolers. It is standard on Ilmor engines.

Sullivan
02-25-2011, 10:35 AM
Now that you say that it sure looks like two oil cooler put together. Thats pretty nice.

By the way, what is the break in periode? Just no full throttle?

Yea, Jim is funny. To bad he is up north shoveling snow, he should be in Fl hanging out with us here.

Rubber boot w/RTP, don't think I even hit the buoy, just tried to crank a hard (very late) turn and ski skipped out. Rear foot came out, ski dug in hard after it skipped out and the rest is history. Was not behind the new boat, It was my first set behind a 200 this year (that must have been the cause of it). I should be back on the water by end of April, will just be steering boats in the meantime.

Manual on my mcx said something like a 10 hour break in period not to exceed certain rpm's at varying intervals IIRC. But when I asked my dealer about it he said after an hour or two just use it however I want - as far as he's concerned it's just fine. And he was a professional moter builder for years, so I believed him.

I guess I got lucky last season. I did the same thing twice but instead I put my ski tip through my spray leg, dry suit and shin. Ended up getting stiches from my wife who is a vet. The day she took the stiches out I went out and did the same thing in almost the same exact spot.

Moral of the story is.........don't be late and rush it. Relax and make up your time behind the boat. At least that is what I am trying. Good luck with your recovery.

This may seem dumb to those in the know, but what is a "promo" and do you actually have to be part of an official MC team to get a boat with TT or WTT on the side of it. This boat look way cool, and I really like the WTT logo on the side. For us mere mortals do I just have to wait for gchapman-tt to sell this one?

Sullivan
02-27-2011, 10:39 PM
A promo member buys a boat and takes it to several tournaments to be used as the official tow boat. The only way to get a boat with the WTT is to be part of the WTT Team or buy one at the end of the season from one of us. The white one is identical to what mine is going to look like.

Bruce,
I don't have it yet so the picture I have posted are of a boat close to the factory. I should have it early next month. You'll have to come out to Mint Lake and ski behind it. Hey if you want any option on it, I can still add them. So far, it has the 6.0, heater, shower, heated seats, bimini, SS rubrails, tandem trailer, stereo, and zero off.

How is your ankle healing? That is a heck of a way to start the season out.

After two weeks in a cast in Florida, I went to a foot/ankle specialist back home and found that the break was more displaced than I thought. The best option was to have surgery last Tuesday to secure the bone with a couple of screws. Out of the surgical dressing Friday, then back in cast for a couple of weeks, then go to a walking boot and begin to put some weight on it (I think 3 weeks of that). Won't be skiing for a while but will be back in Florida to drive a number of the spring tournaments which will feel good to at least be back in the boat.
