I've said it before, I'm glad somebody's out there buying new ones and trading in their "old" 03 197s. Eventually, it trickles down to me, the well used boat consumer.

Ditto for me Doug! ;)

I’ve seen that. I’ll say, ouch, (for me anyway). I’m hoping to upgrade in the next few years to an 03 197 (black with the stars) The price doesn’t seem to be going down fast enough. Sometimes I hate that they hold value..

I agree with all of you. Glad someone is paying the "New Boat Price" so I can buy their 2-3 year old used boat when I upgrade in a year or so.

Those are some pricey boats ! I bought the PS197 in 02 and the $$ have been climbing. Yep, these things really hold value, and I think that if you do a smart deal new or used you can benefit from it.
BUT, if prices climb too fast, that market situation might not continue . . ? . ? Seems like the explosion of wakeboarding has led to some high $$ boats.
Yes the PS197 still looks like a deal !!!
Does anyone discount much from MSRP? I am afraid to check how close to MSRP I paid......

I might upgrade in 15 years or so (after I burn up this motor and the MP injected GT40 I replace it with). ;)
If it ain't broke, I ain't replacing it.

Another thread on here about what a 93 Maristar is worth... I think you are going to see used prices really climb on clean older boats. New prices are going to drag them upwards....... Just my 2 cents here..
That's right, I'm the sucka that buys new. Ok it's my third tournament boat and the first time I bought new but I still feel like a sucka!

I bought a holdover 2004 a few weeks ago. MSRP on this Maristar 230VRS was $62,000, they sold it to me with for $46,000. It had 1.5 hours on the clock. The same dealer has two 2004 X10s they're currently selling (as new) for $46,000.

Maybe if the price continues to rise, it will keep some of the idiots out of the sport. The explosion in purchases over the last few years still amazes me. It seems like traffic on the lake is 3 times what it was 2-3 years ago. I am also amazed on the number of people who buy the high end toys and don't have a CLUE. I saw a DAD with some teenage boys on a brand new X45 and from the looks of things that was his first boat and dang near first time out. Oh well what can you do. Give me a 2-3 year old boat with low hours that one of the clueless buy and never use and decided to sell in a few years.

kind of an off key question.. but since we are talking about used boats..
did they make the tournament team edition ps197's in anything but black?
thats what i want, but will not buy black for obvious reasons..

I've never seen a red one.. a red metal flake one would be my ultimate dream boat :D
tt boats for 02 were red 03 were black, 04 were blue, 05 is white with black

Is that the bid for $35K on eBay? I hope you're not upside down.

Anyone know what color the '06 TT 197 is going to be?
It is going to be tough to beat the looks of the '05. That is a fine looking boat. If I can wait two more years to upgrade that is what I will have my sights on

i think i wont mention this site, althought the boat is running great now, ive got about 4 hours since i got it back and have had no more problems. using it today one last time. having second thoughts but its too late now. i have 2 people who want it now so its gonna be a price war. both are ready to wire me the money sight unseen which is crazy , i would never do that. they have nothing to worry about though the boat is near perfect.
whatever happened with the joyriding dealer?

My old 1990 Prostar 190 still runs like a champ, makes a beauty wake for slalom, and was paid off years ago... Bought it used for $10k.
I paid $20k for my 28' Formula cruiser (ok, $30k after 2 new engines).
So, for the price of both boats together, I still wouldn't be able to buy a new Mastercraft. That is outrageous.
