So i know we are all biased and love MC, dont get me wrong i do too. Just curious what you all thought of Centurion's as boats? I ran across one that seems to be in decent condition and has the 350 in it for what i think is a reasonable price.

however, i have only been looking at MC's and researching those, so if anyone has first hand experience or what not on these hit me up.

Please dont flame haha :o already thought long and hard if i should even ask here lol

my ex gf had a big centurion....it had a pretty terrible wake for wakeboarding. All mushy, board plowed right 'through' it, rather than 'up' it. She shook like crazy when throttled up.

otherwise idk, that's my only experiance.

I looked at the centurion elite V when shopping for the X1, ski wake was a little softer than the X1 but wake board as above. Quality not comparable. Not a horrible product but not as built to last either.

That thing looks like brand new! Can't comment on the ski or wakeboard wake, but at $11k asking, $10k purchase price after a little negotiating, I'd say it's a deal if it's in as good of condition as the pictures show. That rear storage is nice too (nice place to throw a fatsac).
For comparison, I sold my 96 PS 190, LT-1 engine, 500hrs, New Dimensions tower, heater shower, etc, tandem trailer a year ago for $13,500. My trailer was pretty beat up, but functional. Boat was in real good shape, but probably not quite as nice as that one unless the pics are misleading.

I'm also loving the X-1's and XStar, 205V but all still seem to be a bit out of my price range for now. and also harder to find.

my dream is to get into a 2006 or newer X1, maybe someday

thanks for the replys so far everyone

so without the tower, heater shower, and tandem trailer (this is single), and the fact its NOT a MC would be about right then at 10,999. Youre prolly right with some negotiating easily get it to $10k out the door.

not sure how i feel about the shape of the windshield. seems a bit too "bubbly" and upright for me. but for my first boat and the price, gotta make a few sacrifices

It looks clean and cheaply priced....but what are you comparing it to and using it for? What are you going to do with it?

Have you considered an early/mid 1990s ps190 or 205 dd? I would think you could get into SOMETHING with a better wake for skiing or wakeboarding for 11K. That boat sounds nice for driving around and swimming off though.

My buddy has a 1997 elite bowrider, similar boat. The engine runs good and it is reliable. But the quality isn't there. The windshield is falling apart. The boat shakes. The wake has a nasty rooster. It porposes under full throttle. The vinyl on the dash is peeling. The tach has failed 3 times. Seats are all backed with wood and it's starting to rot. That nose is VERY prone to taking water over the bow. Even with all of that the boat looks great from a distance. I wouldn't give more than $8000 for it.

The ski wake on that boat is very nice. The front does like to dip into the water and it is not a boat for large lakes/rough water. The biggest downfall is the Mercruiser. I had one in my first boat and the impeller system sucks. The power will be fine.
That boat looks to be in nice shape. Negotiate down to $9300 at most.

Their new Carbon Pro 3 event boat is pretty cool looking. Haven't seen it up close though.

That low nose looks pretty cool. That is, until the first roller comes along and you take 4" of water over the bow. It's a problem with that boat. Hey, it's only water, right?

If you are going to look at other boats then I would not look Centurion. I have seen a lot of these boats have problems. 2 friends had Air Warriors and 1 had a 06 Avalanche. Sorry there are a lot of other boats out there for the money.

How much are you looking to spend?

Got to admit I logged many hours behind my neighbors Falcon Bow Rider. It was pink with tinted windows that thing pulled like a john deer. We double deep'd behind her all day long. To be honest a bow rider was on the top five list when I purchased my MC. Quality is much higher with the MC but for the price alot comes on the Cenrution and gets the job done.

oh and i was just seeing what is out there, i still would much rather prefer a MC!! always like knowing everything that is out there before i drop the coin on one.

Now if I'm not mistaken, both Centurion and Thunderbird (now Formula) made boats called "Falcon Bowriders" -- which one are you talking about?

I've got to say, from the video, that boat looks to be in pretty good shape. Of course, no engine noises or interior shots, but it looks pretty. Not sure if I'd stray from the big 3 for the price, but it's a nice boat. Back in the 90s, there were a lot more options than there are now. Results varied and in 96, it was hard to beat the Pro Star 190, but I can't imagine I'd turn down a pull from that nifty lookin' boat!

Best price is less than $1/mile to ship..... There was also a super nice 1998 prostar 190 for $10k, low hours, but my guess is that it sold :(

the burban can get about 16mpg highway and at 2170 one way that about $490 with gas average $3.20 a gallon. on the way back i would expect 12mpg at 2170 and $560 with gas at same average.

add $1200 on to the price of the boat plus having to drive avg of 68mph to make it there in 31.9 hours one way and having to take a day off work...

Keep your search to a 1993-94 PS 190 w/ LT1 or 95-97 LT1

ya can't go wrong...more than likely you will never loose a dime on the deal

I SOLD my 1996 Last year 360 hours LT-1 Slot for $16000 PERFECT SHAPE

at this price, how much more do you think it would honestly depreciate? is there anything wrong with the 1999 LT1 190 that i should be concerned about?

The ad for the 1999 is a Sportstar with the RTP, not a PS190 with LT1. Still a sweet looking boat at a decent price. I'd take that over the Centurion any day, it's just a little far from you.

Well...now your going to make me question my childhood.

Lets see the motor was mounted in the middle and only the prop was exposed, it had a teak platform...now I am not sure

I was always told it was a Ski Centurion but it may have been one of those direct drive Formulas????

R U KIDDING ME?
