View Full Version : speedo accuracy/adjustment

My buddy has a 2003 X9
Boat speedo shows 30 mph at 3,000 rpm, which seems correct. However at 4000 rpm (barefoot speed) the speedo shows 43 mph.

Does anyone have a suggestion that would allow us to have 40mph at 4,000 rpm, without impacting the readings at 30mph??

Thanks for your input!!!!!!

Hi Tom,

The 30 mph at 3,000 rpm is a very rough estimate. For example, by GPS and course times, my boat gets 36 mph at 3,475 rpms. If you don't have access to a slalom course, I'd suggest using a handheld gps to calibrate your speedos.

Well, on mine, two ways. The old airguide has a knob at the bottom that you just twist when you get a good measurement either by GPS or course. Since there's a good deal of silt on our usual ski lake, the airguide clogs up after a few minutes in the water.

The paddle wheel is hooked to PP Digipro 6.4. You can recalibrate it in wakeboard mode using GPS, but in 6.4, that doesn't carry over to slalom mode. So in slalom mode, I run it through the course and then do the recalibrate feature.
