Sweet! But really where is the Four Winns? The boat that paid for everything? O-wait I did see the logo on the coin operated one!

i think Four Winns went broke -- I guess John did better than the other "Three Winns" in all that --

There was a thread about this place beinng for sale about a year ago over at wakeworld:

The link to the listing is down, but I think it was around $10 million

That is crazy, but also funny as barefoot mentioned no Four Winns other than the toy...

I like it, I like it a lot. I've always had a soft spot for those old glossy wood inboards. I remember seeing a thread about someone on here building one. I think that would be my dream boat if I ever got the time and patients to build one.

Four Winns is still going strong, the conglomerate that owned them, Genmar corp, filed for chapter 11 but Four Winns was picked up by an investment group.

Were they not bought out of bankruptcy by Genmar a few years ago though? I thought I remembered that. (at my age, memory is not always 100% correct of course).

That is just plain awesome!!! I love everything about it, the engineering that went into the design, the wooden boats, even the cypress on the ceiling/walls.

I enjoy going into those places where you find something new every time you go in. And they never changed a thing.
Sometime it helps to walk through one way, then walk same route back through.... seeing things from different angles

Did you see the old gas pump by the boat entrance?
It's like an optical overload8p

...and the boat-garage extravaganza is so extreme, it is easy to overlook the fact the guy has a full bar in his "man-cave."

Yeah I was coming to say this, it's been for sale for a long time and they were asking 10 mill.

A lotta cash for a place where the ice lasts longer than the boating season.

No Genmar bought them when OMC, another marine conglomerate went under

...only if I lived in Michigan and had $8.5MM burning a hole in my pocket...oh-yeah and the sick boat collection to boot.....however, the x-14v would look pretty killer in that place.

This is why I always put disclaimers on memory. Was Four Winns an OMC subsidiary at that time? If so, when did the Winn family sell out? (glad for anyone who got out while the getting was good.....)

Hey all go to google earth and check this out. The house sits on round lake between lake Michigan and charloviox. This is on the northwest coat of Michigan north of torch lake. This house is just outside the marina and there are ariel pictures of this home there. Nice location btw there is a four Winn staged in the rack on the wake site but it looks like a small 190 nothing special. I would expect to see a liberator at minimum.

At 8.5 mill we should all pitch in and buy a week each for a year what do you say a TT Member time share!

I believe that they all sold out sometime in the 1980's but im not positive on that...they havent been involved in the company in an official capacity for some time

I hope you didn't ask "how much", since we all know what they say about asking. :D
