Maybe this was already posted but if so I must have missed it. Looks like Indmar stepped it up a bit. Not so sure I need a super charger but.....

I can tell you first hand this engine is ridiculous. They had it in an XStar when I was at the factory in October. Here's two vids of that boat...

Not sure since MC has changed over to Ilmor. Apparently Indmar wasn't so far behind as people were saying.

Ilmor is supposed to have the same offering next year...... We shall see.

Until the motor blows up and Indmar doesn't warranty it. Just stick with the 6.2Ilmor as there isn't much difference in performance, but more importantly reliability.

I doubt that will happen! My 03 LQ9 has a bigger S/C on it than what is offered on that motor and mine has held up just fine!

Im gonna borrow my cars blower and toss it on the ol 351....motor box might be a little snug LOL!!

last run of the day, blew the tires off trying to launch at 6K. Car went 11.402 at 120.9mph earlier that day so I didnt care.

When it hooks it looks more like this...(1.57 60ft)

Sounds like a plan. All you have to do is build a base on the floor to make up for the height difference. Then if you take the blower off the boat you can just remove the spacer under the box.

Cool car and great video. Nice times.

I see what you did there....and I like it.

A fresh 351W stroked to a 408 with boost would probably cause the earth to rotate a bit when I was busy ripping ropes out of the "tough guys" on my lake.

Sounds like something to consider....

Probably make the riser out of 1x6 and covered with carpet to match the floor. Attach from underneath and it would resemble the newer boats. Might need a taller pylon. New pylons are available from MBD.

What compression ratio and how much boost are you running on that 408?

Asking about what's under the hood of the car.

100% stock shortblock 4.6 2V with cams, headers, some intake work with a FMIC Vortech V1 making about 12psi preintercooler. Puts out 449rwhp on the mild street tune and drives like a dream. Take my wife and daughter out for ice cream, or just for a cruise and I drive it cross the statelines often. On the highway cruising with traffic there is not much that it wont out run from 65-125 or so its a nice time.

Not store bought or shop built I bought it new and built it over the past 8 years in my garage on my back and I love every minute of it.

First love is cars but this boat thing is growing on me. If I were to do this motor right in all seriousness it would be very mild just well thought out...

-351 with small overbore
-Nicely ported GT40Ps with a similar to stock cam, lil more aggressive
-Aluminum intake, and a nice set of those killer risers
-nice front accesory drive setup and thats it

When this motor finally gives up I should have alot of the parts ready so it can be done quickly and get back on the water.

Ya car racing ! Life is good when theres a blower on it.

What a terrific story on the car. Sounds like quite the ride. I used to have a '69 Mustang convertible with a worked over 302 which eventually had a Weiand tunnel ram with a pair of Holleys sticking through the hood. Never on a dyno or at the track, but a wild street car.

My boat was repowered and only has a little over 500 hours on the engine so replacing it is hard to justify, but I keep thinking more HP. In my mind I somehow keep adding on to a nicely built 351, and the next thing you know it's got a blower and all the goodies.

It never stops man it just never stops. If I could modify my toothbrush I would.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. 9 volt in place of the AA? Might not last real long but it sure would go like a son of a gun.

Ive owned lots of high performance boats including a few that ran in the mid to high 90's. After the MC purchase I'vehad no feeling to make it go faster. Its a ski boat not a race boat. With a MC you have class so no big need for speed is the way I see it.

Hit the nail on the head with that one. Reliability and a good tow are all you need in a mastercraft, besides you have to go slow in these because everyone and there brother wants to stop you and ask about it!

While all the other bayliners and ranger bass boats look around like what about me!!!!!

Love it!

Definitely not looking for more speed. I can run 44 all day long. More power to pull more skiers out of the water is my angle.

The blower is too far down the list for this year to happen this year. Unless I sell a lot more wheels.:D

Some of us have a little different idea about what makes for "enough" power to keep up with traffic. The streets of Detroit are kind of a tough crowd, so you better be packing something decent underhood. My twin turbo answer:

http://www.calibratedsuccess.com/pics/turbos_installed_resized.JPG

I pretty much do this for a living, so the boat will have to live with a stock Ilmor 5.7 since I don't want to spin wrenches in my spare time.
