Looks like I may have a chance to buy this boat from my Brother in Law. They bought it 3 years ago and updated everything! (plumbing, wiring, mechanicals etc) Out of water inspected this year and passed with flying colors. I can get it for 24-26K. Sleeps 8

The way I look at it, it would get me into a boat very inexpensively, that way if I either didn't like it ( which would never happen ) or I didn't have time for it ( I've been down there almost every week-end this Summer) I'm not out much $$$$

At that price you could finance and have a few rentals through the summer make your payments.

How many feet and how many would it sleep? I looked at co-owning a 65' with a friend (~$150k), but neither of us can make it to Dale Hollow or Center Hill often enough to make it worthwhile.

I love the idea!

Good price with the updates. It's a metal hull (or appears to be) which requires a bit of maintenance but other than that, I'd take it with that opportunity...
Nice looking boat.

I see a theme here Mag! :headbang:The yellow matches really well. I could change the navy stripe to black except they just recently had it recarpeted with the light blue carpet. I told them to do it in Black just incase I ever bought it. :D

I love the idea! I belive it's 14 x 60 Sleeps 8 (two in master stateroom, the center of the boat has a double bunk bed so there's another 4, and the salon has a fold out futon that sleeps another 2)

Mag,

I think you will need a fellow Ohio Mastercraft owner to help with all this slimmies you will have on the houseboat.

I am willing to do most anything to help out: rub oil on their backs, take pictures, bathing suit judge, you know, the important stuff.

Let me know what weekend(s) and I will point the rig south out of Columbus and meet you in Florance.

I'm assuming you just leave them in depending on where it's located and how cold it gets?

Nice addition to the Mag floatila. I would think that you can write it of as a vacation "home". Typically the requirements for a write of are a head, a bed and a shower. With all of your friends on the board, you could probably get your ROI covered if you wanted to be in the rental business.

We're looking into buying a houseboat for next year.

Looked at waterfront property in Maryland, WAY out of our budget.

Slip fee for the summer (6 months) is under $2500, and that includes use of the pool and boat ramp! (That's alot less than the taxes would be on a home)
Could even rent it to family or close friends on some weekends.

Rod, how do you like your set-up?

I thought I had some friends on here, but gosh! You guys are harsh...

I use to whine like this when I was a little younger than you.. My buddies used to call me Patches.. Anyone remember that song??

" My poppa was a grand ole man, I can see him with a shovel in his hand"...... Patches erk......

Drysuits are good, but to wear them around on the house boat kind of takes the fun out of it. Is there a hot tub on the boat????
