View Full Version : wild idea with leds

ok here goes a wild thought im thinking of. I have made several light rings and have installed leds all over old boat. just bought a 2004 xstar and want to blow my friends away. so heres my plan. i have 6 tower speakers that i will have light rings made using uv purple leds. i also will incorporate all uv leds in cup holders and speaker grilles. I then will use clear drying uv paint to paint speaker grilles and accents (that u cant see in normal lighting). also im sewing in flourescent clear fishing line into specific upholestry to be illuminated by black lights on tower. has anyone ever heard or done anything this crazy?? ive thought it out for a while and think it would be pretty sweet and not that hard to do. any comments would be great. thanks

All of these fancy LED setups going on.....

I just ordered a bunch of LEDs for my new boat-
I got a few white strips for the cupholder areas and to light up the floor. And I was feeling really crazy, so I got some blue ones for the glove box and storage compartments.:D

I see all of these elaborate cool setups, and I feel like an old fuddy duddy. I am more of a clean and simple type I guess.

Make sure you post picks! This sounds like an awesome setup!!

I would be careful doing the fishing line in the seats. That could be devastating if the vinyl starts to rip! Sounds cool though.

on the fishing line i was just gonna feed it thru the existing threads, so no actual sewing.

OK! Got it now. That should be ok. Can't wait to see how it comes out.
