So I am driving home one day and pass a mechanic's garage - the same route I take daily and out of the corner of my eye I notice what is obviously a newly tarped up boat with tower. The hull looked EXACTLY like my Tristar - same lines and all and I noticed it had "Barefoot" on it in the same "font" as my Tri. Never heard of them until I researched here.

A week later I stop in, talk to the mechanic and sure enough it was what I read about - a Barefoot 190. He would not let me crawl around in it becuase it was winterized, etc. and and it was his nephews but the hull was spotless and waxed - trailer was rust free - it had been taken care of. Left my number and I got a call.

Barefoot 190 with 454 and around 600 hours. Same tower I have ... Kid drove to CT last summer to get it to ski the rivers here but all his friends moved away. I of course told him I was interested. I need a boat when in the Burgh and not up north. He told me 10.5K, I am thinking 8.5K. I realize I need to inspect it more closely etc. etc. but what are your thoughts? Anyone have one of these? Hopng for an of chance the owner from CT is a member here!

I always wondered what a 454 would do in my Tri and now I may essentially have my chance.

Saddest thing is for me to see the thing kept outside daily during this ****ty winter. Worries me a bit too.

I would (and I am sure others here) would love to see some pictures of this boat... You could probably get a better assessment of what you will have to give to secure this boat.... Just my thoughts......

$10,500 is top dollar for that boat. Just depends on what it is worth to you to have one.

They are excellent barefoot boats. A friend of mine had one till the Nashville Flood got it last year!

Wow... what happened to that flood boat? Looks like a great project boat and i bet you could get it for less than $8.5k!

$10,500 is too much for that boat IMO. $8500 is dead on in my mind if it is in great condition.

Sheez! I'd love to have those corner windshield glasses on that flood boat. Mine are badly crazed.

I bought this boat above! I bought it from the guy who bought it from the salvage company. He got it running. I flushed the engine and changed the transmission fluid about 4 times and rebuilt the carburetor! It runs great, I love it.

I'm thinking that should buff right out.

I am so glad I found these pictures on here. I would like to see some old pre-flood pictures. I have attached a couple of pictures from the drive home. It cleaned up pretty well...

I always thought BF 190's and TriStars were good looking boats. Aside from the 454, did they beef up the tranny?

It is the Velvet Drive 72C. The 351's come with the 71C. I don't know what all the differences are, but I have heard the 72C is a little more robust. I believe I have the 1.52:1 ratio (powerslot). I can't make out the serial number, but it holds 3 quarts as opposed to 2 quarts. So, looking at the owner's manual, that translates to the lower ratio.

Thanks!

It sounds pretty good. It does have mufflers though. I had a checkmate w/ a big block, straight pipes, and above water exhaust... nowhere near that loud.

It doesn't run too much over 50mph, but it gets there pretty quick :)

Too, there is one in Atlanta for $7995:

Your Barefoot 190 and trailer are identical to my '89 TriStar 190. It's sort of like seeing a ghost! I'm starting to miss her after a long winter. Once snow skiing season ends next weekend, I'll be getting her out again.

Looks like your trailer fenders need a little tweaking as well. Any idea how they got crushed?
