Do you have a trailer package at all on the Sub?? If not, you may be able to go to Wal-Mart, (look around at the trailer light department) , and pick up a T fitting that you just plug and play..

If no trailer package, I'd also recommend a transmission cooler and stiff rear shocks for the suburban. My expedition got bounced on my first trip pulling the boat. On Lee's advice, I bought some stiff rear shocks and it made all the difference. Ride isn't the least bit bumpy either.

I think the 2K model has a wiring package with it... You may need a step down socket from a 6 or 7 wire to a 4-wire. Wal-Mart item...
Wally also sells a wiring harness kit that you can tap into through each tail light on the truck and route your wires as such for the trailer connector. Make sure that you wire to match the trailer's current wiring and connector (4-wire or 5-wire) if you use the kit. Hopefully you'll fine a socket at the rear of the truck and if it's a round female configuration, you'll need the step-down to a 4 banger providing the trailer has the same connector...

Thanks for the info everyone. I have a 4 wire flat connector on the 'burban now, but don't know what the MC trailer has as a standard set up.

Most boat trailers with brakes that I have seen have a 5plug socket. If at all possible, get an adapter to work with it. As far as I know, the fifth plug allows the brakes to disengage when you back up.
Having that said, if you need to back up without it, just turn the plug 180 degrees. Yes, really. two of the contacts will not be hooked up, but that is the idea.
Turn your lights on and it will solve the problem.
Just remember, if you start cussing because your trailer keeps locking up in reverse, or if it jumps around while you pull it empty.............
plug the trailer in 180 degrees from normal, and turn the truck lights on.

My 2000 trailer for my Prostar had a 5-wire connection. I still only use the 4-wire connection on the vehicle side. The 5th wire is to disengage the brakes for backing up. When I back up, I have to get out and plug the 5th wire into the 2nd connection from the vehicle side, turn on my parking lights, and the brakes become disengaged.
I bought a 4-5wire adapter, but have not had time to wire it into the vehicle, and plus my current way works fine.

My 2001 has the 5 pin connector. Either this was the first year or the year before I think.
