My boat is safe on land, but I've been watching people gut stuck in front of my driveway all day long. Apparently living in OK means not admitting that snow reduces the coefficient of friction between your tires and the road, and assuming that your little _______ (fill in the blank with your favorite little 2wd car) can push a snow drift a 1/4 mile long that comes up to your grill, or that you ______(favorite 4x4) can make it even though there are no tracks past my driveway and there is a truck buried up to the tail gate at the end of the road.

I helped the first 3 out, but then I got tired of it and came in to enjoy the show. I'm thinking of hanging a sign that says " 6 people have been stuck here so far, do you feel lucky or just stupid?

hahaha!!! or you might make some good money dragging them out. A friend in college would go out during snow/sleet/ice storms with his 4x4 POC looking truck, slap on chains and sit at the bottom of a hill on the interstate with a sign "$20 tow to top" ... made some good beer money for between storms!

Ya we just had an eventful day in a ditch close to our house!! Coming home from the store we stopped and pulled out three cars from a ditch, just to watch six more go in. We just laughed, said next, and headed home.

I hate to say we are so use to this snow stuff in upstate NY. Just another day at the office. My wife and daughter are leaving now for a 3 hour trip north to Lake Placid a 3 hour drive in the blowing snow. We dont even think twice about not going. Were either dumb or numb!

I grew up in Norway, then moved to Utah and went to school in Wisconsin and Colorado. I've driven WI to UT round trip many times in the dead of winter in a mini van no less, and I have never been stuck in my life despite people finding there way into the ditch all around me. I think driving in snow is a combination of understanding momentum and going an appropriate speed. The problem in Oklahoma is first the roads are not cleared, second no one has a clue how to drive, and third all these country boys think just because their truck is a jacked up 4x4 it will some how not skid when they hit the brakes at 80mph on hard packed snow and ice. I see more trucks on the side of the road than cars, but that may just be because the cars can't even make it out of their own driveway.

Hey Jeff. Winter as usual here in Minnesota too. Guess an extra tax dollar or two to buy a snow plow doesn't sound like such a bad idea now. And where are all the guys who say their front wheel drive car goes through everything?:popcorn::popcorn:

That just sucks!! The same thing happened here a number of years ago and my Father owned a marina that was destroyed by a big wet and heavy snow fall. The heavy snow collapsed all of the covered moorage and sank the floating sections. It was a mess.......let alone the heartbroken boat owners that lost boats that sank.
The real nightmare was the rebuilding phase.....what a pain in the arse dealing with permits and environmental studies on the water.

only time I've been in the ditch in 30 years was when I was young and stupid.... was when I had my old Nova and was really screwing around.

that being said, I'd rather drive through 100 miles of snow, than 10 miles of ice:(
