Hey everyone, I have a question about the spare on the MC trailer. My spare dosen't fit on the factory mounts because the tire hits the hull and won't allow it to mount, any suggestions or has anyone else found this?

I personally think the 05 trailer is a bit of a let down
I have pics of the bracket breaking off at the top weld on a blue 05 trailer with a couple of hundred miles on it.
I can tell you on my 05 with my 197 the tire was about 1/8" from the hull and I called B/S on it at delivery. Their fix???? put a 1/4" thick aluminum plate on the top lug of the spare mount and let it eat.
It works that way and honestly has not rubbed the spare at all.
So far in the short time I had the team boat, the spare bracket weld failed.(be sure your's is welded to the top edge of the trailer or you'rs will fail too)
two trailer bunk bolts came off and one of then was without my knowlege and I gouged the hell out of the gelcoat with the bunk bolt prior to knowing the bunk was loose.
One oil bath hub started leaking on the rim making a mess
the bow eye would drag the trailer between the vbunk on certain ramps.
Try the spacer fix on the spare, but crawl under your trailer when it's hooked to the truck and check EVERY nut on EVERY bunk. Maybe even double nut them or something.

Good advice to check the bolts. On my 01 trailer I checked them all right after delivery and found many, especially the bunks, to be loose. Two of them, one of the bunks and one holding the guide post, were stripped. I also had numerous wires that had insulation stripped or cut partially through, and a brake line failed. After getting the trailer in shape, it really has been flawless and one of the easiest to tow.

Dain it,
I might endup with an MC by next summer, and so far I keep hearing all kind of reject is happening to a top quality boat. Hose broke loose and fill boat up with water, boat stall becuase of some bad parts and now this. I hope MC quality won't be slipping any furthur than this.
What's irritating is how small stuff can cause BIG trouble. Trailers should be a higher priority (I think) since they are so critical to a good day at the lake.
Mind you the spare mount was probably a mistake as I've not seen any others welded at the bottom like this one, but a problem just the same.

Contact your MC dealer. You have a trailer from the factory that requires a special outward adaptor that is N/C to you from MC. The dealer will need your trailer serial # so the part can be ordered. There was a few 209 trailers that slipped through with a NEW employee at the factory that installed 197 spare tire mounts. The new adaptor is N/C. Call your dealer ASAP

I don't like seeing bad things happen, but keep in mind most people post on here trying to get help to problems. Since they normally get great advise on their problems they come back.
MC owners tend to be more perfectionist and notice and fix things other people let ride! There is a big community here.
